So my friend had a softlocked game and after we fixed it with an CIA Update (Since normal updates didn't work) but after he selects the player ingame the game prepares something and fails afterwards. What can we do now?
I just found something on the official Ninty Support site. It seems like the Save Editor my friend was using is not compatible for the Welcome Amiibo update
I thought it was obvious when I said it softlocked. I don't know any other ways to softlock a game without editing the save.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.+1

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
