Here's my Cakes setup for A9LH.
It uses Wolfvak's version with 11.1 kernels, and also uses Arm9Select to have Luma-like button mappings (X for D9, Y for GM9); patches that are a separate download in the last mid_kid version are also included

Get firmware using https://github.com/Wolfvak/CakesForeveryWan/blob/misc/firm_dl.py

Remember you must still use A9LH with screeninit (including any A9LH by AuroraWright with NAND boot, in which case leave it called arm9loaderhax_si.bin)

Only tested on O3DS

Sorry no .dat here, PC on which I do builds is 1 km away

can anyone help me with the firmware, script doesn't seem to work for me?

cheers

Edit, got it working, but oddly some games are missing? about 5 out of 20 games.

Also what patches should i enable for v2 a9lh sysnand on 11.2 eur

Cheers again

The only "required" one is: Block firm partition updates

For a typical configuration:
disable signature checks (all 3)
block firm partition updates
survive reboots when launching...
3ds_injector (if you want its features, like region free and region spoofing)
show original gba bootscreen... (if you like it)
allow all ds cartridges... (if you care)

hi friends. it's been ages since I updated cakesCFW, since everything works like a charm. but recently, I was going to try the latest Animal Crossing update, and apparently it requires a new 3DS firmware.

Could somebody point me to the right direction of what should I replace?
I'm currently using Cakes version 138 and native firmware 10.2

If I understand correctly, I should use the nightly build 178 and replace the firmware.bin in the SD card, with the latest (11.1?)
is there anything else I need to do? should I update the A9LH?

thanks in advance for your help.

You just need to download and replace the firmware file with the firmware file from 11.0

Could you provide more info on this issue? You're making it sound like we're getting bombed by aliens btw, it's not that big of a deal. It just needs a smol update, I can do that in a couple of hours...
They added a NATIVE_FIRM requirement to the homemenu. Updating basically means the current firmware files will only boot to a black screen after the update. It doesn't remove anything, just blocks the homemenu from booting.
I always sound panicked. I am like the little dog of people

Alright, so all it needs is a FIRM update. You can expect an update for 11.3 FIRM in a couple of hours.

I am currently testing updating the firmware.bin and both corbenik and CakesFW still boot to a black screen. So it looks like the CFW itself will have to update.

At least with CakesFW you're doing something *terribly* wrong. If you used a real 11.3 FIRM it'd complain about you trying to run an unknown FIRM and dump a decrypted version of it. Not sure with corbenik tbh.

It actually booted without complaining. But just booted to a black screen.

I've been made aware of the 11.3 FIRM update. You can expect a new nightly that addresses this issue within the next 24 hours.
BTW, I am not sure what reboot patches you are using. But if they are based on older code from Luma3DS, you will need to update those as well.

I feel the need to point out that it was originally the other way around (with rxTools and someone else being the original sources), but those in Luma have been adapted to reboot into the CFW payload instead of a patched FIRM like mine do. I don't see any recent changes in their reboot patches, but thanks for pointing it out.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for informing me ^_^
Still it seems at some point the reboot patches for Luma3DS were updated. And it was that update that basically allowed it to survive the 11.3 update. SaltFW updated to include the most recent reboot patches and that fixed the support for 11.3.
I only bring up the Luma3DS patches because it seems every CFW nowadays is using some fork of the Luma3DS reboot patches. This including Corbenik and ReiNAND, which both forked an earlier version of her patches.

Sounds just like your upcoming patches could be ported back to my rxTools fork aswell ;)

BTW is NATIVE_FIRM 11.2.0-35 still available to download?

I finished updating it: http://ny1.hashbang.sh:8834/nightly/Cakes_190.zip
You'll need to grab the newest NATIVE_FIRM from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mid-kid/CakesForeveryWan/master/firmurls and place it in the cakes directory.
Hold "L" while starting up your console to enter the CakesFW menu, re-enable all your patches (Please don't forget to re-enable the firmware protection patches if you're using arm9loaderhax!), and boot.
Keep in mind that doing this breaks NTR (I'm unsure if it even works on the latest firm yet). You'll have to wait for a new svcBackdoor.cake for that.
3ds_injector.cake should still work, as well as all AGB and TWL cakes.
