Hi guys

I have been following this guide in order to softmod my New 3DS XL.

All went well, but...

On this page,

https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax

Step 14 under Section VI - Finalizing setup is not working for me.
Whenever I try to launch Homebrew Launcher, I get an black screen error "Failed to download the actual payload...."

Can someone please advise me what to do, I believe I am nearly done here?

If you need some photos, I can provide those as well.

Thanks

So, it just a matter of waiting?
I dont need to update or modify any files on my SD card?

I am running on latest firmware 11.3.0.36-EUR

Cheers

The problem is that JUST TODAY a new Nintendo update (11.3) blocked the payloads for Homebrew Launcher, that's bad luck at it's best, just wait for Smea to update payloads.

I hope you already have A9LH installed... because as of right now the exploits to get the process started is patched in 11.3
But in order to boot HBL, you just have to wait and redownload the paylaods to your SD when they get updated which may take some time.

If you have the HBL cia installed, it'll auto-update the payloads when they become available I believe.

Yeah it's just bad timing because 11.3 was released today so HBLauncher needs a new payload, which should come within a day.

You should be able to continue with the guide and sort out HBLauncher later. HBLauncher is not essential to your setup, just nice to have for .3dsx-format homebrew.

The DspDump is optional. The same thing happened to me, but Luma3DS works perfectly without it. Just skip the DspDump and do it when smea updates the payloads. That's what the people on the 3DS Hacking Discord told me to do.

Wait..
So 3ds.guide works on 11.3 whenever Smealum updates the payloads???
I thought fasthax and the DSiWare downgrade has been patched in 11.3

He started in 11.2 and in the meantime of OP doing the process 11.3 was released.

No. HBLauncher_loader and (likely) SoundHax work after the payloads are updated.

DSPdump should still be done eventually however because a lot of homebrew use the DSP for audio.

Thanks for the support guys.

Looks like I am on the right track then. Will wait for payload update.

Managed to install a few cias just now, so its all working good I think.

Cheers

Not to sound rude, but why did you update your console and why are you installing A9LH now? Easy methods have been around for more than a month now.
People don't have time maybe or just bought a 3ds, in my case I had to wait around 2 months because I was so busy with work and studies that I didn't have 2 or 3 hours to install A9LH
