Yes yes, you probably know this problem already. Retroarch's emulator lags on any roms used. I am just wondering if there is a solution. I tried looking but really couldn't find anything. Is there any emulators that are better? I use OLD 3DS with custom firmware (CFW). I am sure I am a huge idiot and there was a easy solution.

NOTE: I have tried the 3dsx version and cia version.

Sorry, I am a huge idiot with this kind of stuff. :(

Which emulator are you using? GBA, SNES?

Though in general, the lag is probably caused by the fact that you're using an O3DS and can't be fixed.

In that case, you can try blargSNES, I think that's what most people use as a VC replacement on the O3DS.

Yea I use that, but I really wish Retroarch would work because:

It has more emulators
I have no idea how to make saves on Blarg
I like the layout of Retroarch more..

Well you just save ingame in blargSNES, it doesn't have support for save states. I guess you'll have to choose between playing with lags or playing with minor inconveniences. The only hope you have is that RetroArch will be better optimized in future releases. Which version of RetroArch are you using btw?

Ah, how do you save on blarg then? And I'm using the latest version I think (latest build). I am also using the cia version currently

You should use Snes9x, it plays 90% of the games, has save state support, runs full speed(for most games) on O3DS. blargSNES plays some games that Snes9x doesn't which is why I said to use blargSNES VC injects for those.

Ok

Here are the best emulators to use on O3DS, most others will run too slowly to be usable:

NES - Retroarch Quicknes (make sure you disable video filters!)
SNES - Snes9x for O3DS (there is literally no reason to use blargSNES anymore)
GEN/MD - Retroarch Picodrive (make sure you disable video filters!)
GB/GBC - GameYob 3/23 build or VC injects
GBA - VC injects

To be fair blargSNES isn't useless. It runs some games that Snes9x can't(at least at the moment). Other than that, those are the emulators I run on my 2DS and they're the best I could find to-date.

Which games still don't work as of the latest snes9xO3DS nightly?

Satellaview games and hack/demo games. On blargSNES there are over a handful of playable Satellaview games and hacks and demos. Obviously not a deal breaker but if someone wants to play those then blargSNES is your only bet.

So, if I wanted to play Zelda Parallel Worlds, I'd need to use blargSNES? Or does Snes9x support some rom hacks?

That's correct. I believe it runs on blargSNES v1.2 but crashes randomly in game. It crashes on v1.3 after you select the game save. It would be worth it to test it with v1.3b too, I've haven't personally.

According to the compatibility list for Snes9x it only runs 3 hack/demo games and Zelda Parallel Worlds isn't one of them. You could always test it on Snes9x though, it's not even on the list as tested.

How do I go about making VC injects for GBA games. Been meaning to finish Mother 3...
