I'm following Plailect's guide, and I'm up to Section II - Installing arm9loaderhax, Step 2. I'm using a USA New 3DS XL on 2.1.0, and I insert my SD right after booting into the HOME Menu. I open the internet browser, tap 'URL', and type in 'http://2xrsa.3ds.guide'. It loads for a bit before the bottom screen flickers once, and the clock on the top screen stops moving shortly afterwards. I've heard of pressing Select once or twice, but nothing happened. I've also heard of initializing save data - likewise, same results.

Here's my SD root: http://imgur.com/a/V6QFL

You seem to have missed Section I Step 5
Copy the contents of the SafeA9LHInstaller .7z to the root of your SD card

Triple-check your a9lh folder contents because you'll get stuck again if you have a mistake there.

I really really didn't want to install a torrent client again and have it screw with my browser
I don't know what torrent client you installed, but they shouldn't "screw with your browser". I recommend qBittorrent as a torrent client.

Anyway, you need arm9.bin, arm11.bin, and SafeA9LHInstaller.dat on the root of your SD card.

Edit: Didn't even see the second link, but the contents of release folder need to just be in the a9lh folder.

So then which 3ds folder do I use? http://imgur.com/a/wSEXa

Also, here's my a9lh folder. http://imgur.com/a/MFIZW I had downloaded the torrent files once before, and I really really didn't want to install a torrent client again and have it screw with my browser, so I took a lucky guess and assumed that was the right folder.
You should have some files named something like payload.bin. Probably inside the "release" folder. Take note when the guide says "copy the contents of ..."

I reorganized the files, and everything's gone just as planned since. Now I'm in the middle of the NAND backup. Thanks!:D
