Okay so I bought a n3ds on ebay and in my stupidity tried to fix a home button issue. I ended up doing more damaged and completely broke the zif connector (Black one) for the lcd power. Then in the midst of trying to glue that down, (it worked a few times) I fried the LCD (Didn't know this yet).
Fast forward, I bought a new motherboard, I started to put it together, and broke 2 of the grey clips off. Also Discovered the bottom LCD is now not working (the ribbon cable got broken before, where it connects got a separation). Anyway, I am now going to buy a new screen.
The issue I am now having, is the 2 grey clips, (One that holds the C Stick, and one that holds the touchscreen) are both broken. I tried taking off the grey plastic from the old board and putting them on the new board. Both attempts wound in them breaking in half.
I have found a place to buy the entire connector, and take the plastic off like that. However the dang things break so fricking easily. Maybe these ones were just old junk? Literally one of them snapped in half just picking it up with the tweezers.
So my question is has anyone fixed this with tape or glue? I am going to buy a bunch of those plastic clips and a magnifier and try again but dammit if they all break again. I am already in this for more than I could have bought a brand new 3ds at the inflated prices of current. (with the screen and clips I will be slightly north of 300 dollars at this point). However its my own fault for A trying to save 10 dollars and not buying refurb from Nintendo, B. taking it apart instead of sending it back moment 1. So trying to save 10 dollars and being impatient has now cost me over 100 lol.
