I have a hacked o3DSXL and would like to mess about with some Amiibos but have none and no way to read them. Amiiqo/N2 + NFC reader seems like an expensive solution but came across this device but haven't found any other details or experiences with it.

The website seems a tad sketchy so I'm not sure if it's just a scam or junk or if it's worth taking a gamble on.
Has anyone tried or know anything about this device?

looks amazing. would be great if anyone could find a youtube review or something. it is WAY cheaper than n2 elite!

A friend of mine had one, Harulu i think it's called.
Except that it didn't wanted to read the amiibo data sometimes, he had no issues with it.

Ah, searching for Harulu brings up a few more results, different brand selling the same product I guess.
What do you mean it didn't want to read the data sometimes? From what I can see there's not NFC in the device and it just pretends to be one when it talks to the 3DS over IR. Did he have problems with the software loading amiibo dumps to the device?

Yeah i think that was the problem. Wasn't exactly sure.
I could ask him later today for you what the issue was.

Can't we just dump and emulate Amiibos with Android phones, since they have NFC?
I've seen that you can write to blank NFC tags with an Android phone but my problem is I don't have an Android phone nor do I have an NFC reader for my o3DSXL.

so will that harulu 3DS storage writer work with NEW 3DS, too? I mean the new one still has IR-interface.

Wii U is out of the game I guess since it only uses NFC, right? so the n2/amiiqo is still superior, but way more expensive.

Are you able to find out what the issue was and if it actually worked satisfactorily? Before I take a gamble and get it to find out myself.

I've got an update if anyone's interested.
I ordered one from eBay a while ago and it arrived today. It works well and the build quality is actually pretty decent.
The software seems a bit dodgy at first but it works fine and I've loaded several amiibo backups to it and tried them in SSB, Kirby Planet Robotot and Shovel Knight.
I can read and write to the backups and save them back to my PC from the device.
