So I have all my Wii and GC games backed up on a USB HDD that I keep plugged in my Wii U. Gamecube games run perfect without a hitch. Wii games, however, freeze in-game at a random point without fail, no matter what the game. I've been running through Wiiflow Master Mod but this was also an issue in USB Loader GX. Anyone had this problem and found a solution?

Is sleep mode disabled on your hdd? Are you using a y cable to connect your hdd?

Not using Y Cable, my HDD didn't come with one, would it help? And not sure how to disable sleep mode on my HDD but it works on GC fine?
the usb ports on the wiiu are really underpowered. In order to properly power your hdd you will need a y cable like this.

Try disabling sleep mode as outlined here.

Here's a handy tip: In the System Settings go to "Data Management". Once there do not click on the on-screen buttons but instead hold down on the GamePad's D-Pad and the "+" and "-" buttons for a couple of seconds. A hidden option will show up and you can disable or re-enable the Sleep Mode on the connected HDD. You can do this even if you don't have a removable HDD plugged in the Wii U.
