Hacking different style home menu

so, like almost everyone im runing luma on my N3ds

now my question is, are there any custom home menus, not themes. but real altered menus, where there is a different style raster for games, the internet location etc. is different? couldnt find anything . or i was searching with wrong keywords..

I'd be inclined to believe that if it was possible it'd be done already.

Either way I don't get why people even care about themes. They're cool and all, and I have one myself, but do you really spend that long in the main menu anyway? Of course you don't. You pick a game and you play. Who gives a shit what the main menu really looks like.

The location of items on the homemenu can be changed, same process as changing the color of the sleep mode screen. Just have to find the right addresses.

not enough reverse engineering done to home menu as of yet. but im sure someone will look into this some time soon. but for now, most hackers (NOT HACK USERS) are focusing more on busting through arm9.

but this would add a more aesthetically pleasing home menu, so i would love that, and get rid of the 300 title limit too

Sounds like the type of thinking that prevents great strides from being made throughout history. You might not want it,that's fine, but then butt out. There are lots of other threads for you. Everything here was impossible at one time or another.

It would be pretty amazing to have this happen. Alls I can do is change the colors of icons and such. Location addresses are private :/

well yeah, but if one person found them, im sure others can to from excessive live dumps.
plus, i would love to edit the places i can store an app instead of that nasty static block design

Some people were saying access to the bootrom would allow actual custom fw. I think alternate themes/layout would be trivial to implement at that point.

Well that's just it, its only text/color edits. The op is asking for an entire UI written from scratch, from theme to icon space layout
