Hacking USB Loader GX: Device not initialized. Switching to channel mode.

I have recently hacked my vWii, and currently am trying to use my hard drive from my original Wii on my Wii U. Upon launching usb loader gx, it hangs on "initialize usb device" for like 5 minutes and gives me the message it was not initialized. Does anyone know what is the problem? The hard drive works fine on my original Wii. Also something important to note is that my hard drive makes this weird clicking sound that doesn't happen if I plug into my original Wii or computer.

Which port did you plugged it in?
If you don't configure anything you should use it in the back port up.

I'm using the top back port. The sd card is fat32, so is the drive. The backup files are the same format as my original wii as i didn't change anything.

The drive shouldn't be fat32, but you said that it works with your original Wii so I have no idea

Also, maybe something important that you should know is that I don't get the "format nag" message on wii u boot. If you have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh really?
That's VERY strange, idk why it does that. Maybe something isn't working in this port.
Try booting Wii U with the fat32 drive in the front ports

Sounds like you need a Y-cable for the hdd don't get the power it needs from usb port... I also use my hdd from my old wii and I had to buy a Y-cable for it to work....

it looks like your problem is due to insufficient power, the Wii U usb ports have less power than the original wii

There is no problem with the HDD being fat32 at all, actually it's recommended.
regarding the format message, that's so normal, the Wii U will show you that message every time you plug any HDD not formatted by your Wii U (unless you hide it with Ustealth)

yup, the clicking is a lack of power, I had that too when I used a normal cable (not Y-Cable). The reason for supplying less power is how Nintendo designed it, it exists in all Wii U consoles not only yours, if you go to Nintendo's HDD recommendation page you will find that they are recommending a Y-Cable.

USB 2.0 specs calls for min .5A of power and that is what Nintendo delivers.
