So I have a N3ds with a9lh installed with Luma I was wondering if there's a way for my to get a second friend code while still keeping my original one and not deleted all the friends I have on it? And if I can make a second friend code can i change to mii character for it?

But I'll still keep my sysnand if I do this? I want to be able to switch between when I want
Yes. That's what an emunand is. It's a separate thing. If you're worried you'll screw something up, obviously make a backup of your sysnand first.

You will be able to hold a button on boot to use your emunand, if sysnand is default (So basically have both installed and pick which one to load on boot (kinda like a dualboot setup))

Anything on emunand shouldn't affect the sysnand as long as they're unlinked which iirc (been a while since I used an emunand) you do by formatting one of the two

You unlink by using TinyFormat on the one you are looking to format.

once you copied it, format sysnand, then boot emunand using a cfw from the homebrew launcher

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

the format is only required because:
1) unlinked emunands are generally safer to use, better too
2)need to format to recieve a new friend code.

also not that all your original stuff will be in the emunand, the sysnand is now fresh.

Did anyone mention that making an emuNAND erases all the contents on your SD card to do so and you should back the SD card up first?
