Good to them. They don't want to mod their consoles, but this is a golden chance. Who know when it'll be patched. Even if they won't use it for piracy, it's good to have all kernel and user permissions on all versions.

Just chatted with the dev and they confirmed it's a working arm9 exploit
The exploit itself wasn't really in any doubt it's been posted here for a few days https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/3DS_System_Flaws#Process9

The actual implementation couldn't have been terribly difficult:
1) Check kernel version use Scvhax/waithax/fasthax
2)Use exploit (already public with source)
3)Load safe_firm
4)Execute firmlaunchhax (already public with source)
5)Load safe_firm again

Yeah sounds right. Still nice knowing straight from the horses mouth that it's a viable option
