well sometimes hombrew dosent boot in the channel versiond of that or it just crashes while loading this chanel so ive got rid of that

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I like this idea.
that would make the main installation more dangerous .
also in theory you dont need to install haxchi cbhc includes haxchi but anyways if you got a corrupted download of the vc from the e-shop installing haxchi is just to verify that its working before installing cbhc to boot youre corrupted file and brick youre console

so a all in one installer probably never will happen

I know cbhc IS haxch. I just meant that I like the idea of a single installer so users could grab one installer, launch it, then choose whether they want Haxchi or CBHC. I just re-read your post and I get what you are saying now. A single installer could be dangerous because its possible to have a bad/corrupted vc download and installing CBHC without first testing Haxchi is a bad idea. I think that's the point you were trying to relay?

I didn't know the channel version still had issues.
I thought it was some homebrew which required an update to work on the channel version, but they have been updated now (WUP installer, ftpiiu, loadiine) due to expecting a "exit to miimaker". There are other issues?

To get "more option like Haxchi" you will always need a reboot anyway, as it's launched at boot, so you can already launch the elf version from it.
I guess the current choices are either a second VC or reboot the console and trigger "boot hbl" to load the elf version.
Dunno if this is the issue he had, but the issue I had is when I load a rpx homebrew on HBL Channel I cannot access elf homebrew anymore unless I reboot the console.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

the channel version is crap but dont let us discuss this here this is the wrong thread to talk about the channel XD
Channel version is fine, but it needs more rework and feedback from users instead switching to the elf version.

what feedback do you need it refuses to load homebrew and it crashes alot
it would be nice if we could create log files of the crashes or homebrew issues

Report it to @dimok (? The Channel version work fine for me besides the rpx issue, what I mean is you need to report issues to the HBL's official thread to support the project, that's all :)

Why would you do that?
cause every time i quit a game, or returning from settings, it autoboots again + the isohux menu logo, i think the wiiu gets more slow.
Or just my idea.
BTW is there any option with just haxchi to autoboot in CFW? I think i read something that if you hold the A button, boots in CFW from sd card but it didnt work for me

Even when you quit a game? I think that shouldn't reload the OS.
i think the wiiu gets more slow.
No, that doesn't happen. The Wii U isn't like Windows that gets extremely slower and slower the more applications you install.

Set the config.txt to default=sysmenu.

Or... Better yet... If there is a way to merge Haxchi and CBHC into a single installer, with the option of cold-boot, it would be more efficient and solve several confusion issues, as well!
bad idea. That is basically asking for a noob brick.
Safer to have a separate .elf with the icon being a warning sign then one elf with a thing that can brick if you can't read

Well, nothing is ever idiot-proof, but if you don't follow directions, or do your research, especially with the current Haxchi and CBHC, that is more dangerous!

...also in theory you dont need to install haxchi cbhc includes haxchi but anyways if you got a corrupted download of the vc from the e-shop installing haxchi is just to verify that its working before installing cbhc to boot youre corrupted file and brick youre console...
In theory, CBHC could be coded to REQUIRE the Haxchi channel to be installed prior to CBHC installation. And upon first boot of the Haxchi channel, an entry to the config file is written to tell the CBHC portion of the unified installer that it's okay to allow CBHC to install. Of course, this is all in theory, and @FIX94 would probably have some major re-writes. But if it's a brick-saver, I'm guessing @FIX94 would see the benefit.

...so a all in one installer probably never will happen...
Never say never. Haxchi, CBHC, Mocha, redNAND, etc. are slowly gaining a larger userbase, and there will be a need for more secure methods of installation.

I also think that is what @lebrawurschd was trying to say. However, as mentioned above, with several code re-writes, I think a single, unified installer is still a great option...as long as the prerequisite checks are implemented prior to the CBHC install.

I have additional ideas for the unified installer, but I'll save those for @FIX94, if he is even interested.

Why is this a "bad idea"? I'm not saying to blindly merge the two together without a prerequisite check...and I don't suggest an installer that goes immediately to CBHC, either.
I'm suggesting it be more like the following pseudocode...

IF Haxchi Channel is present AND has successfully been launched AND a CBHC configuration file is not currently present
THEN allow CBHC install
ELSE install Haxchi Channel first

I realize this is super-basic, but you should get the idea.
Something like this would then also allow users who have previously just installed the Haxchi Channel to move onward to CBHC.

Ideally, it would be nice if there was a way to "lock", or even "hide", a channel, to prevent it from being accidentally deleted or moved. This would also help brick-protection.
