What I have:

Europe 2DS - ALL STOCK
Ver. 10.3.0-28E
64GB SD

I would like to be able to play my .cia games from this. I used to have Gateway installed but decided to make the switch. I have tried 3ds.guide but got confused when it said I need to be 2.1.0 to install A9LH. What is the best way YOU would recommend to achieve what I want? From what I have been reading, this is the way to go.

Install A9LH
Install Luma3DS
Install FBI
DONE

Somehow I don't think it is that easy however, can someone please point me in the correct direction on this.

Thanks guys

Basically you need to:
- Downgrade to 9.2
- Downgrade to 2.1 in order to extract the OTP
- Install A9LH
- Install Luma3DS
- Update to the latest firmware (by restoring a NAND backup and then update)
- Install FBI
- ???
- Profit

To do everything you have to start following the Plailect's guide from here: https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(browser)

If you still have access to browser on that console then yes, it IS that easy, given that you have the ability to follow a guide. Follow what W4T4R1 linked all the way until it says you're done, by which point you have A9LH+Luma and FBI installed. If you don't have browser then you need another entry point which will cost you some money.

He should have a working browser, since his 3DS firmware ends with -28 (i took for good this)

Thanks guys. I do have a working browser. So first things first, downgrade to 9.2 and then 2.1. I'll give the guide a try and reply if I happen to get stuck.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

What tuts would you recommend for them to be completed.

I looked here. But the guide doesn't state about the downgrade process in order to do so.

Are you unable to read written instructions unless specified directly at you? Your first post into this thread already makes no sense. You claim you tried 3ds Guide but "got confused" because you need to be on 2.1. The only way you could've arrived at that conclusion is if you had gone to the 2.1 page, which you'd only have gotten to had you actually read the damn guide.

Sorry but if you cannot follow as detailed and thorough guide as the 3ds.guide is then Homebrew simply isn't for you. Give up and move on with your life.

Or don't give up, and read the damn guide. Starting from Get Started, you choose your console. THEN, you choose your entry into HBL. Since you have browser, you pick that. THEN if you read the page fully, at the bottom it says

" If you are above the version 9.2.0, continue to 9.2.0 Downgrade "

THEN after you read and complete the steps in that the page says.. again at the bottom .. " Continue to Decrypt9 (Homebrew Launcher) " .. from where you can find " Continue to 2.1.0 ctrtransfer " ..

I'm not gonna link the whole damn guide here. Please read. Learn to read. If you can't, don't do Homebrew, because the inability to read WILL get your console bricked.

Jheeze. I've never done this before so calm down people. I've done it to my WiiU etc so I'm sure 3ds will be fine. I wanted to confirm it all before I go ahead and do things, would prefer to ask then result in a brick.

You can't brick if you follow the damn guide like you are suppose to

No need to so rude. Without understanding it, a brick is possible. I like to be 100% before I go.

No, a brick is not possible if you read the guide. It doesn't even matter if you don't understand what you're doing so long as you follow the damn guide. The reason people are rude is because you're not reading the guide and you just keep asking for info that can be found in the said guide because "you can't find it" = you're too lazy to find it.

I highly disagree. I spend around 4 hours earlier doing it and only got homebrew launcher installed. However, in the morning I shall try it from the start again. I will ask for any help if I get REALLY stuck.

if it took 4 hours to copy paste files onto an sd card, then you're just extremely incompetent. My 12 year old newphew only took 4 hours to complete the whole guide (Luma cfw + a9lh) for his first time.

Also from experience: Don't use the 64gb during the process of hacking because I always had trouble downgrading the system using anything larger than 32gb. I suggest use the default sd card (8 or 4gb) that came with the 3ds to hack/downgrade your system. After your 3ds is hacked, you can copy paste all the files from your current sd card to the 64gb. Just be sure the 64gb sd card is formatted to fat 32.

Ok so completed the install using a 4gb sd card. Simply just move all files to 64gb and good to go now?

LOL when i first started all this i only read the guide many many times and downloaded the necessary files beforehand to save time and placed everything i need on the memory card, that way you could focus on the guide.

just follow the guide, literally read it word by word, it actually guides you what to do next..you just have to click the link that is applicable to your console..

if the guide says continue to a certain page then click that link..as long as you are able to do that then you should be fine..

just make sure you are using a genuine SD/ micro SD card and properly formatted..memory card size doesnt matter, i used sizes from 32GB, 64GB and even used 16GB and 8GB and all worked fine in my experience. also check you dont have faulty card readers .

a lot of people would be rude to you because everything you need to know, the steps you need to do is in the guide..all of it..so dont take it personally..

anyway, goodluck to you..

Thanks.

  1. Press (Start) to reboot with the SD card removed
    • Booting the device at least once with the SD card removed will allow you to configure the CTRNAND based luma installation
  2. Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
    • “Show NAND or user string in System Settings”

This is the only part I am stuck on now, where do I find the #2 one?
