Hello, I'm currently running Luma 3DS CFW (v. 5.5 I think) through Menuhax. I am going to switch over to A9LH pretty soon and I am wondering if there are any extra steps that I need to take to back up my current (11.0) EmuNAND before following the Plailect guide. Do I have to make a backup of the EmuNAND before starting the process for A9LH?

System Info:
USA Old 3DS (xl): 9.2 SysNAND and 11.0 EmuNAND

if u don't want to lose your saves and your installed games than yeah you should make a backup of your emunand so you can inject it to your a9hl sysnand when you're done.
edit : in the guide , near the end , you will be asked whether you want to restore your emunand or not anyway, so even if you didn't back up your emunand you can still have it back as long as you don't format your SD card.

One more question. Approximately how long does the (entire) process for A9LH take? (Including the time for downgrading the firmware to 2.1.0 to get the OTP and putting my old Emunand onto my sysnand)

I am currently trying to install A9LH, but I have a huge problem. I am at this step: https://3ds.guide/2.1.0-ctrtransfer

I am trying to download the USA 2.1.0 ctrtransfer image file, but the links are broken (all of them). I have tried opening it in Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer, but none of them will open the link. Is there any other place where I can get the image (perhaps that iso site has them?)

these are torrent magnet links , get bittorrent or utorrent and it will automatically detect them.

Ok, I am now on section III, step #8 of https://3ds.guide/2.1.0-ctrtransfer

I am at the part where you delete the Home Menu Extdata. However, when I open the Nintendo 3DS folder, I see 2 folders with the 32 character ID (assuming it is one for EmuNAND and one for Sysnand). Which one is the one for sysnand? Should I just delete the file on both of them?

your emunand one should have a bigger size , because you have before installed your CIA games to it , right ? so look for the one with the bigger size.

Thanks. I figured it out by looking at the "Date Modified" column and picked the one that was earlier. I have successfully downgraded to 2.1.0. I an thinking of stopping the process here and continuing on with the rest of the A9LH installation tomorrow. Is it safe for me to power off the system and continue with the process later?

Yeah, you'll be fine. If it was a N3DS you wouldn't be, but life is fine

I have a problem. I am on step 19 of the "Moving Emunand" section. https://3ds.guide/move-emunand

The file backup for my emunand took over an hour because I had 22+ gigs of data on it. Now, I have backed up all the files onto a folder on my desktop like the guide tells me to do in step 10. I have followed the instructions and have formatted the SD card using GodMode9. However, I knew that putting all of the backed up files back onto my SD card would take another hour and a half. So, I decided to stop the process here and do it tomorrow. I simply went to the main menu of GodMode 9 and held R+START to shut off the system. But now, when I turn on my system, nothing happens. It is just a black screen. When I try to turn on the system without the SD card inserted, the blue power LED turn on for a second, then shuts off.

Since I formatted the SD card, the only file I have on it is "arm9loaderhax.bin". Did I just brick my system?? Or will the 3DS boot again after I copy all of my files back onto the SD card??

yeah just make sure to never put it in sleep mode while its still on 2.1.

EDIT: Just to let you know, I haven't switched the "arm9loaderhax.bin" that was located on my SD after formatting with the "arm9loaderhax.bin" from my original backup (in fact, as I have said previously, none of the files from my backup are on the SD card yet. The only file on the SD card is the "arm9loaderhax.bin" after Formatting the SD with GodMode9)

Pretty sure you have Arm9LoaderHax installed. Hold select with the SD card in, and tell me what happens
Nothing. As I have said, the SD is completely formatted and the only file on it is the "arm9loaderhax.bin" that was generated from GodMode9 (not the original one from my backup). Would this be fixed if I paste all the files from my SD backup back on the card?

Er, try what I said but with the Arm9LoaderHax.bin in here (direct download link)
YES! It launches into Luma3DS v6.6 Configuration. At least I know it is not bricked. Now all I have to do is copy all the files from my backup to the SD, correct?

Thanks!

EDIT: The 3DS now boots, but it boots without any of my installed CIA's from my old emunand. I assume, however, once I copy all my files, I will get all my cias back?

Phew, that's a relief. Accidental installs always get me on edge
Anyways, yeah, just copy back all of your files along with your EmuNand backup, and restore the backup with Hourglass9 to SysNand, and all will be fine
Although you should end up doing that anyway in the closing steps of the guide, and I dunno if you need that Arm9LoaderHax.bin you had earlier so... I'd rely on the guide more than me :P

I already restored my Emunand (from the file that I dumped called NANDmin_emu.bin) onto my system nand. However, the 3DS boots without my custom background theme and all of my installed CIA's!! Will this be fixed and will all of my installed CIA files return once I have copied the backup onto the SD?

It should, yeah, since those were stored with the other files
If it doesn't, just restore the backup again after copying the files back
