First off... please stop calling it Brazilian Method... they just found out the tickets were wrong...

Anyways... Loadiine vs USB installation seems to me like the 3DS equivalent of Gateway vs. CIA installation...

Gateway has cheats but also has its own disadvantages...

CIA works like an official purchase would and you can also modify the game files but cheats are trickier

My hope is that instead of an updated Loadiine that RedNAND instead evolves to what the Wii had... that is, all files of the system extracted to a USB drive and easily backed up and modified (and not to mention having "unlimited*" NAND space)

I really have to imagine that in the future cheats will become just as easy for USB installed games as they are now for loadiine...

* Well, as large as your USB drive...

If people are gonna waste time making loadiine installable, at least have it use .wud files instead of broken code/content/meta dumps

I have no interest in the steps needed to use the brazilian method (needing tickets and things like rednand is not worth the hassle). Loadiine is the only current method I will bother with. usb support would be a great boon.

Acquiring and installing games is easier with the Brazilian method than it is with Loadiine. You don't need redNAND. USB support is entirely unrelated to Loadiine. Loadiine uses an exploit based on tricking the Wii U into thinking it's running a title with SD access. Adding USB loading to Loadiine might not even be possible because of the nature of the exploit that it uses and the limitations inherent in it. Even if it is possible it would be more practical to create a new USB loader and add SD card support. See long ass post for more details.

I don't get why people just don't use Haxchi and set loadiine as an option (or the default if you want...)

Completely agree!

I hope RedNAND becomes like how NEEK was on the Wii U...

Working with extracted files from the NAND would probably please quite a few people... (not to mention not needing a 64GB SD card for the NAND image)

Loadiine GX2 can do plenty that the so-called 'Brazillian' method cannot do.

It can load modified games (and as such, is the only way to run Undub version of games like Xenoblade Chronicles X, do language file swaps etc.).
It can run injected VC games without requiring a donor rom.
And most importantly, it can rom from standard FAT32 drives instead of the proprietory Nintendo format that nothing can read.

I believe you can actually do mods and inject VC using the Brazillian method :) just use FTP and replace the modded files. Or, you can just decrypt the files, apply the patch and repack everything into an installable wup package. Consireding the limitations of SD access speed... I don't think FAT32 is worth using Loadiine for.

EDIT: I may be wrong tough! I never actually tried doing this :P

I like loadiine, most of my game are in gamecube menu, but as a i have a 128gb card i have some offline games loaded using loadiine

Well, it really isn't justified to make Loadiine like a USB Loader. While it would be neat, we can already install the games to system menu. And Loadiine was unstable, slow, and it had SD support.

A for effort

Annoys the hell out of me too calling it this stupid brazilian method. Why not just call it what is? USB loading method. There is fuck all brazilian about it.

<sarcasm>No sir, I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I actually think it would be awesome to play Tokyo Mirage Session #FE on 13,889 floppy disks.</sarcasm>

The usefulness of an installable Loadiine for people that use it is not lost on me. Until there is an installable version just do the same thing you would for any homebrew you want on the Wii U menu. Use Haxchi or install the channel version of HBL and launch from there. The OP was talking about more than just an installable version. He was also talking about active development of Loadiine. Most of what he was wishing for doesn't even make sense in regards to Loadiine. From what I gather online ain't never gonna happen with Loadiine. Loadiine "tricks" the Wii U into thinking it's a title with SD card access (Mii Maker or SSB). Online doesn't work because the Wii U thinks it's running a different title than it actually is. A USB loader would be awesome but that's a homebrew onto itself. Loadiine works using the above mentioned SD card exploit. It would make more sense to integrate SD card loading into a new loader, not to integrate USB loading into Loadiine (assuming that it's possible).

1. Installing games using the Brazilian method involves so much less bullshit it's not even funny. Firstly you can just download them from NUS. No fucking around with ad link sites, joining random forums and sorting through posts to find games, slow download speeds, or waiting because you reached the daily download limit, etc. Downloading from NUS I've seen my entire bandwidth saturated. Downloads have been as fast as 15 MB/s (120 mbps). I suppose you can convert a game downloaded from NUS to Loadiine installable but that's another thing to screw with. Secondly the installation process is easy. I'd argue it's even easier than unzipping the files to the appropriate place for a loadiine install. No fucking around with multiple part zip files, deleting them afterwords, unzipping the update/DLC to a separate folder and pointing Loadiine to it. Installing games to USB using a program like Wii U USB Helper is easy by comparison; browse available games complete with screenshots and game information, select the games you want to download, download them in batch (with updates and DLC at a speed that will saturate most peoples connection), copy them to the SD by selecting the games you want to add to the copy queue and copy them in batch, use WUPinstaller Y Mod to install all the games in batch. No fucking around with file management except for deleting the install folders off your SD card when done.

2. Maybe, I dunno. @xtheman166 seemed to indicate that it's not difficult to repack a Loadiine installable modded game into a USB installable game. Even if it is way easier on Loadiine there's like two games you'd probably do that with. Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Xenoblade Chronicles X. If I were interested in said mods I'd be willing to put in extra effort to play the USB version.

3. To be honest I'm not familiar with VC injects. I assume it's taking a ROM which is not available as a VC title and overwriting an actual VC title. If that's what VC injects are then who the fuck cares if it's easier in Loadiine? That's the most bass ackwards way to play a ROM I've heard of. I've got like a dozen devices that would be better for running ROMs. Just use an old laptop or a Raspberry Pi. Alternatively you could wait for the Wii U emulators to become more mature. Apologies if I'm totally wrong on what VC injects are.

4. What for VC titles? Again being able to use any controller you want for an emulator is standard. If you're talking about Wii U titles then cool I guess. The gamepad has added functionality for most games and the Pro controller works awesome so I'm good. Besides, I'm pretty sure that there's a homebrew that would allow this functionality. HID to gamepad I believe.

TL;DR The Brazilian method is an objectively superior way to install and play backups. Nothing wrong with continuing to use Loadiine, but it should not receive any significant development resources. It's a dead end.
I love you. Thank you daddy

It's just more known as the Brazilian method. Noobs know it as the Brazilian method so it's just easier to type.

I think "Brazilian method" sounds silly and a bit like a dirty sex move but I use that term because people are familiar with it. I hate calling directories folders but I do so for the same reason.

It can load modified games (and as such, is the only way to run Undub version of games like Xenoblade Chronicles X, do language file swaps etc.). nope you can repack to the nus format, granted you need sig patches but with mocha it doesnt make sense to not run sig patches.
It can run injected VC games without requiring a donor rom. also wrong. if you have a nds title you can unpack it change the title id inject a new rom pack and it works fine(again would need mocha but thats so simple to run.
And most importantly, it can rom from standard FAT32 drives instead of the proprietory Nintendo format that nothing can read. also wrong. if we can get loadiine to have fat32 access then we can make the wii u usb drive act like a fat32 drive
tl;dr; anything loadiine can do system menu can do better
also i have already repacked a custom game:

Uff, I thought this thread was a "lets show much we love(d) loadiine for playing games 1 year before an alternative" but instead this is a loadiine bashing thread :D?
I mean it's good. But it should be left to rip

Well it was discovered by Brazilians , but because they didn't want to make a big deal of it they didn't give it a name, so love it or hate it it's going to remain named that way, ppl use that term to show their appreciation , still better than those who call themselves devs and never release anything to the public :)

It calmed down the scene & At least now devs can focus on developing other things than finding ways to play backups.

They released, but I heard they didnt discover it. Might be bullshit though. Dunno, dont really care, its still USB loading not some porn maneuver. :P

oh yeah? totally.. , in the hacking scene ,in the end user's perspective,It doesn't matter who discovers stuff but who releases them.

All I need to do right now is put the game on my sd card and run loadiine. until a usb offer that is that easy comes along I have no need for any other program that loads wiiu games

:facedesk:
Usb already offers that. Put on sd and install. Its one more fucking step that you only do once. Quit being a lazy ass and do the one fucking extra step!

b-but my brick risk

People really have no excuse of not doing the better method tbh
