Hacking [Noob] Some question before using ninjahax.

So I'm almost receiving cubic ninja (Most likely within 2 days) and I want to install homebrew and CFW on both of my 3ds. One running 10.7 and one 11.0. I don't want to lose any data. The instructions for 10.7 on 3ds.guide is clear. I also read something recently about slowhax. Is that something I can run on my 11.0 to downgrade or is my only option to transfer and lose the files on the 11.0 one?


Edit: I got zelda four swords and I got ironfall. Don't care about ironfall. Do care about zelda four swords and don't want to lose any data on it.

Edit 2: Oh I misread something. Can't downgrade with Ironfall. Got Zelda four swords though.

The only way you can downgrade the one on 11.0 would be if you have one of the 4 DSiWare titles that are compatible with save injection, specifically Fieldrunners, Legends of Exidia, Guitar Rock Tour, and The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (Anniversary Edition).

If you do not have any of these, you could do the following:

• Follow Plailect's guide to install A9LH + Luma on your 10.7 3DS.
• Purchase one of the titles listed here on the 3DS originally on 10.7
• Follow the guide from here with the CFW 3DS as the source and the 11.0 3DS as the target.

These are currently the only two ways (without a hardmod) to downgrade the 11.0 3DS.

I had started my reply before your edit.

Do you mean the save data for 4 Swords? It is possible you might be able to back it up in the System Settings > Data Management > DSiWare menu, however I am not sure.
Your save data will be lost once you inject the hacked save.

Alright hopefully that will work. Will I be able to use the inject hack with Cubic Ninja to downgrade my device on 11.0?

Yes. Just be sure not to update in the meantime.

Yes, I believe you will lose some of your games however I can't guarantee that (can't exactly remember what I had to do for mine). What you could do is backup all of your saves once you have access to the HBL and then you can restore them once you are done with the guide.

Ah yes, you're right - you shouldn't lose data. However, with this DSiWare injection thing you have a chance at getting in a softbrick loop. You can keep retrying the downgrade over and over again even though recovery puts you on 11.2, but you may be required to format before you run sysDowngrader to get it to work. I just formatted right away to be safe, especially since Browserhax was available to me on 11.0.0.

The 10.7 should be able to downgrade straight to 9.2,and the 11.0 needs to downgrade 2 times with slowhax first then sysupdater.No data gets lost since your not formatting anything.

im getting my n3dsxl monster hunter edition and its confirmed with a 10.7 firmware i got hands on cubic ninja for dirt cheap like 900 bucks in my currency (13$ approx) another 10 days till i get my hands on my n3ds, i also ordered the power saves pro, (i got super lucky with cubic ninja after i placed an order ) gonna follow the guide but i want to know if downgrading the n3ds wont cause any issues?

Pretty much - the otp at 2.1 wasn't cleared from memory and exploits have been tested most at 9.2 so it's deemed best for initial downgrade.

The is/was a way on n3ds - to obtain a file 'hashed by otp' that removed the need for the 2.1 downgrade
