I have one more clean console running OFW 11.0. I am wondering if I should save that console for any future hack or keep clean as a back up? Could there be an update by nintendo blocking A9LH making the console useless? I've seen mixed threads about possible patches and etc. I am not sure what I should do in that case.

Just hack it because fuck it! It's fun!
Also Nintendo can make it harder to install A9LH, but not impossible. They've basically cornered themselves with bad programming and the system is currently reaching it's EOL.

Anyone worried about nintendo blocking a9hl can just setup emunand. As long as they are unlinked its nearly impossible for Nintendo to do anything about it.

On my source N3DS XL it's running A9LH+Luma, in the system settings it had said Sys 11.2 before I edited the string text. Does that mean its running off sysnand? Should I be using emunand in the first place? or is this really not a big deal

True true, I might as well do so and resell it then in that case. Whats your thought on the NX? You think it will replace 3ds?

I use system nand just because it's faster and easier to load dsi / gba games. I'm just saying if anyone is ultra parinoid to use emunand. My systems are hard modded so not much can really screw me up

I have my thoughts on the Switch, though I would suggest opening another thread. If you are interested in my personal thoughts, you can always shoot me a PM.

I feel like us end-users are stalled at a standstill between CFW makers and Nintendo.

Either one could release something any day now, and it's shooting my anxiety through the roof. Like, who's gonna release first... OFW 11.3/12.0, or SlowHax?

Why wait?

I honestly don;t understand the fear around Nintendo updating and breaking A9LH. If that happens, don't update. It's already recommended to check the forums before you update regardless of A9LH, so this doesn't change. If Nintendo do fix it, don't update until it is sorted.

Am I missing something? What are people so worried about?

I update Luma once a day, so I'm not TOO worried, but still nervous.

But unless you're expecting Nintendo to break into your house, update your 3DS, then run away into the night, your A9LH setup isn't going to break.

Just check the forums before installing a new system update.

If one is using Luma3DS, then Nintendo cannot touch A9LH on one's system. Worst case scenario is that Nintendo puts out an update that somehow messes with sysNAND and/or its ability to boot, but because A9LH is untouched, you can just restore a working NAND backup from before the update.
