So I have transferred steelhax to a new 3dsXL on 11.2 and ran the exidia save and SUPPOSEDLY downgraded to 10.4 but settings menu shows 11.2 still and the dgtool still shows 11.2 also. Not sure if it's safe to try again at this point or not. I tried to run the next section to confirm if the exploit worked but everytime I open the steel diver app it crashes and says an error has occurred and won't open HBL. What should I do? Not sure which troubleshooting option I should use:

After System Transfering steelhax, it crashes to a black screen on 3DS #2
or
After doing the DSiWare Downgrade, my hacked save is gone

or if something else is happening here. Please help :-)

Since I followed the instructions in order. my nand backup doesn't have subwars on it and I no longer can link my NNID. So hopefully the solution will exclude that.

Kinda off-topic:
When did you transfer from whatever 3DS to the N3DSXL, it did appear the DSi and Downloaded games and the NNID automatically on the N3DS without doing anything manually?
In my case, my N3DS got an error code randomly 8 hours after finishing the transfer therefore, nothing was technically transferred. I had to link the NNID manually and download the games manually.
By any means, what did you do? What transfer method did you use? It appears every save game on the data management? Thanks!

You can link the NNID on the previous 3DS by calling Ninty. Therefore, being able to system transfer again in a week.
Anyways, try the "crashes to a black screen" one. Maybe that way can fix it because if it says that an error has occurred, means that the hacked save is still there somehow.

I used Exidia, steelhax, and local wireless transfer. I got no errors for the transfer and everything looks like it transferred (when I looked at the target SD card EVERYTHING was on it). I am 99.9% sure I selected the right selection (NEW 11.2 -35 U) for the target steelhax after getting the source steelhax to load HBL.

I just did this. My save was gone too. It also didn't keep my exploitable dsiware game on the source 3ds. He covers the steps to this problem in the troubleshooting page of plailects guide. After that everything went smoothly.

I never did use steel diver though, I prefer ninjhax anyways

So what I thought happened, happened. For all those reading this in the future. Apparently dgTool can actually silently fail while saying it was successful which causes steelhax to fail. After rerunning dgTool and downgrading again, steelhax worked perfectly fine. So if you are getting the "An error has occurred" message when opening steel diver that forces you to restart the 3ds, downgrade your NFIRM again. Just don't do this if you can launch HBL.

Also wouldn't recommend local wireless transfer as it can cause errors.
