There's also another plan you can try. System transfer TO the banned 3DS using an unbanned one. This should knock your banned device ID out of place and replace it with the unbanned one. This is useful because you won't need a hacked 3DS to perform this. I was thinking of buying a used N3DS and trying this.
But at the same time I'm debating on just using the current unban methods (moveable.sed and lfcb) and enjoying my current data as long as possible. What can Nintendo do, REBAN me? If so I'll just move onto plan B, the one I mentioned. I also don't mind losing my data, it would just take a lot of work to restore my game saves and stuff.

As far as I know, transferring your banned data to an unbanned 3DS results in that 3DS being banned, until you restore a nand backup prior to the transfer.
But it should work the same way if you just system transfer unbanned to your own 3DS.

That is precisely what I did (if I read properly) : Transfered from an unbanned O3DS XL to a banned N3DS. Did not unban me. Would you mean, linking an ID to the unbanned 3DS then transfering?

Oh I see, that's odd. Then I wonder if the other trick really works (Transferring banned to unbanned then restoring NAND prior to transfer)
Looks like I got no choice but to use the current methods. Risky, but how risky exactly? It's my ex's lfcb and she never used her 3DS.

It is indeed.. That's why we started to wonder what file or whatever we missed (other than SecureInfo_A, LFCS and moveable.sed) that Nintendo could be using to tell which consoles are banned.

Also odd. Is the 3DS you transferred from unbanned though? While the one you transferred to is banned? I'd think that system transferring causes the systems to create entirely new info. Maybe what makes the banned > unbanned method work is how you have to set a different lfcb before system transferring to the unbanned 3DS. Restoring the nand prob restores the original unbanned lfcb. I wonder if the originally banned 3DS is now unbanned because it still has the edited lfcb. Overall, making system transferring pointless as opposed to just using a lfcb and moving on with your current data.

Yes, the source system was never banned, and the target had been unbanned with this method. Normally, System Transfers move the moveable.sed file from the source to the target.. and even the XL's moveable.sed did not change. The New 3DS (was banned) is most likely unbanned because of the unban method. Sadly, I only have one transfer every 7 days, and I restored my NAND backup, so yeah.

Ah I dunno.. it had no NNID linked.

Me too, curious about system transferring a clean unit over to a banned unit, and if it gets fixed.

No I bypassed the 001/002 ban by injecting a public LFCS, then used a dummy nnidsave.bin to delete the NNID account. After that the system transfer worked just fine. It transferred everything to the other 3DS, including the banned LFCS/moveable.sed. Yes, the 3DS I transferred to was banned. Mine got a new generated set of certs, and now everything works just fine. I made a new NNID, can access eShop normal and can go online, even got a new Friend Code. The other DS that was banned was "unbanned" when I restored the backup of it's original sysnand that I made before the transfer so it restored all of the 3DS' unbanned files as well.

Essentially, I sent the ban into limbo instead of sticking it on another 3DS. After verifying the 3DS I transferred to was not banned anymore I returned it to the store for a refund. Again, I did not return a banned system. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN BANNED SYSTEMS. If you can't unban the new one, just keep it!!

I think they ban the device ID which is generated again in a system transfer (I mean, it HAD to be otherwise the ban wouldn't have transferred anyway) So the new 3DS got the Device ID of my old one, and my old one got a new one. That's the only thing that can explain why it works.

Okay, so it seems moving the banned system to another system (banned or not) works, but moving an unbanned one to a banned one does not.. strange. Or did you MANUALLY move moveable.sed/LFCS with Decrypt9?

Not really if the banned certs have some way of preventing an overwirte but not preventing being moved entirely. Overwriting would clean them, moving them would just infect another DS. You just need to move them right out the door.... Lol

No, it has to go the other way. Your banned console must be the source or it won't work.

Next, bought a used 3DS and hacked it. He made a NAND backup on this used 3DS. Then he carried on with the system transfer. 3DS 1 (Source) will be a blank slate, and 3DS 2 (Target) will have the banned data.
Now here's where things get interesting. He restored the NAND backup on 3DS 2 and it removed the ban entirely. The banned data is completely non existent at this point and both 3DS will be ban free. This is because none of the 3DS use the same Device ID as the banned one. When you system transfer, it assigns you a new device ID where you can then make a new NNID and start fresh again. He then returned the used 3DS for a refund.
As long as you have a save backup of all your games, you should be fine. Your other data is worth sacrificing to start clean again.

2) Hack the 2nd 3DS with A9LH and make a NAND backup via Decrypt9. Also backup the Nintendo 3DS folder on the SD to a computer

3) On your banned 3DS, unban 001-0102 by using the localfriendcodeseed_b of the other 3DS. A public one is fine, you only need it temporary.

If this works, in theory, wouldn't just a straight system transfer from an unbanned 3DS to a banned one have the same effect?

I tried, and it didn't unban the target system, which is weird, in theory. I used the "With PC" method, though I doubt it makes any difference.

So we dont restore the Nand of the 3ds 1( not banned) on the 3ds 1 ?
