Gaming Has anyone gotten banned from playing Pokemon Moon online?

Dayum, I hope Nintendo doesn't start banning us for using Freeshop/Ciangel :/

It's clear the source of these bans are from playing online with Pokemon before releasing, meaning the bans have to be based on identifiers sent to their servers during that time - we know they aren't MAC bans as we can get around them with LocalFriendCodeSeed_B's from unbanned consoles.

Now Nintendo could start banning MAC addresses that connect to their CDN's...but if they were going to do that, they would have done it by now and the reason they haven't is because they have no way to verify you don't legally hold the tickets you are download the respective titles of.

How exactly is everyone using decrypt9? im on 11.2, a9lh and luma, and every time i try to run decrypt9 it just crashes. is it only for older firmwares?

drop the .bin version of it in your payloads folder and rename it to have a button prefix eg.

/Luma/payloads/start_d9.bin

The homebrew launcher version won't work, stick the "Decrypt9WIP.bin" in the Luma/payloads folder and rename it to "x_Decrypt9WIP.bin". Then hold x when booting up your 3ds

Just ignore the "NEW" thing. He ditched the unnecessary part of his guide and forgot to ditch the "NEW" too

Sorry, I didn't read your other posts.
You edited your localseed with HxD, right? After that, save the file, copy to the files9 folder of your 3DS and inject using Decrypt9, the same way you dumped the file (well... not exactly the same, this time you will inject instead of dump)

Well i followed the directions exactly and im still baned from eshop; i was probably being dumb and thinking this was a full unban fix. I still have full access to online game features however, which is all i care about really. I hope that ban isn't coming, and if it does then i hope this method fixes that.

Well i followed the directions exactly and im still baned from eshop; i was probably being dumb and thinking this was a full unban fix. I still have full access to online game features however, which is all i care about really. I hope that ban isn't coming, and if it does then i hope this method fixes that.

The eShop/Miiverse ban isn't fixed by this, only online play. Looks like some folks are researching methods to unban from those, but keep your expectations low

Well i literally NEVER use eshop/miiverse, i was just worried about online play. So if this method fixes online play then i guess im golden, for now.

The code you mentioned is probably permanent but can be circumvented by injecting an unbanned friend code seed.

However you need to get this seed from another a9lh 3ds / your own 3ds if you've done a system transfer in the past.

Alternatively some people are sharing these, and they are being used by up to 40 people at once. That method kind of seems like a ticking time bomb to me.

Oh dear god it worked, it worked!

Acraeus, I could pay you a beer right now.

I just unbanned myself from 002 using nothing but my own 3DS! This is incredible. And I suck at writing tutorials of any kind, so please don't count on me when it comes to that!
But basically

1. Inject an old NAND backup from when you were still installing a9lh (I did one before)
2. Use Decrypt9 to extract movable.sed from it
3. Use Decrypt 9 to extract movable.sed and LocalFriendCodeSeed_B from your current NAND that is banned
4. Use HxD (hex editor) to compare your old movable.sed with your LocalFriendCodeSeed_B, see how offsets 00000000/08 through 00000110/07 is the SAME!
5. Open up your NEW movable.sed with HxD and copy offsets 00000000/08 through 00000110/07
6. Open up LocalFriendCodeSeed_B with HxD and CTRL+A and then paste what you just copied
7. Save, inject to sysnand

This is how I did it, don't blame me if something goes wrong because I'm even worse at giving instructions than following them.

EDIT: Ignore strikethrough text, that is no needed and was just a part of me finding out HOW to do it, you don't need to do that.

I am to extract those 2 files after injecting it.
Open them in that hex editor and post it to my banned one.
Once done, save the changes and inject it to my banned console?

No. Ignore the stuck through parts.

Just extract those 2 files, take the values from moveable and paste them into your seed. Inject the seed back and viola. Supposedly it works.
