Because it is. People are discovering they got banned and the cycle starts over.
"Can i be unbanned"
Why did I get banned
Do we have to delete the game?
What is the ticket?
Is this ban perma or temp?
Did Sun and Moon cause this?
Can Nintendo see cias now?
Is CFW over?
Your profile pic sums up the thread nicely.

This reminds me of the people that got banned from Xbox live for going online with leaked copies of halo 3. I don't even leave my systems WiFi on when breaking the street date.

One can argue that an early "game started" date was due to an improperly set internal clock (especially since mine says 2014 :p) but connecting to the games servers is essentially shining a spotlight on yourself and waving to the developers.

I just tested online with a different game and am not banned so hopefully others in my situation see similar results, but I would advise anyone to stay offline until the games release date just to be safe. For all of those who are permabanned, best of luck to you in finding a fix. worst case scenario, black friday is just around the corner.

People who had legit carts also have a 15 day ban they have been told so already

Ok so that's fine but I still worry about those who are going to resell their console to some random shop tomorrow (before this becomes more common knowledge) and screw some kid outta playing online.

So I wonder what's gonna happen when the now banned systems change hands? Like if I call nintendo up in a week and say I bought a system at a pawn shop and I can't connect to the eshop are they just going to say I'm SOL? Also what about people who got banned that were using false console ID's? Did a bunch of random people get banned because others were using their CID?

Really feels like Nintedo never thought this through. At worst its an inconvenience to pirates and it totally screws second-hand buyers and people without CFW's who got caught in the ban wave from playing a legit cart.

That's exactly what I thought.

If the bans are permanent, in about 2 months I plan to call Nintendo and say I bought a used system and my online doesn't work. I know I deserved getting banned, but in this country I have to work almost an entire month to even get the money required to buy another N3DS, add in rent and bills and I'll pretty much have to work 3-4 months for one. That's not possible when I have so many other important shit to buy. This was a straight kick in the balls, especially since I only went online Sunday night to Monday morning.

They already mentioned this and they'll unban theirselves most likely most people who buy from third party stores don't even play online but only God knows

Up is down, and down is up with Nintendo.

However , what if they check IP address and see the console is at the same place since the time it got banned? :o

(not sure if this would happen, has anyone done this before?)

Still really want to find out if any legit cards got 2812...everything for me is riding on that.
Be patient until that one person comes up and confirms it no one knows

Now we all just have to remember if we buy a used DS anywhere make sure you check the wi-fi in store first :D

they can't do that because what if other people in your family have a 3ds or some one plays sun and moon online on public wifi

That's not an issue, I change my IP like I change my socks if I want to. My ISP is dynamic IP range and all it takes is spoofing your router MAC address.

And my city is extremely big, so it coming from the same city is no surprise at all.
