Ah cool.
Didn't know this would actually work because of so many people saying "instant brick"

Coldboothax is super easy to do, but at the same time super easy to screw up. Some notes for people who really want to try coldbooting:
  1. Ensure your Haxchi title is on internal memory and that it can be booted without signature patches. (You MUST buy a DS VC game for Haxchi+Coldboot, no being a cheapskate on this for now.)
  2. When editing system.xml, use a GOOD editor and triple-check that you typed the title ID correctly. I personally suggest Notepad++. Using the built-in Notepad on Windows can sometimes screw up the indention of the XML, which just makes it all even riskier.
  3. Make sure that system.xml has the same permissions after uploading the modified file as it did when downloading it with WUPclient.
  4. Just don't be stupid.

I'm a little concerned about this. I definitely have it on the USB, but really don't want to mess with it. Has anyone successfully moved it and then tried this?

If you're worried about anything, then just use the Wii U's Quick Start menu. It only puts you out 1 tap of the screen and you don't have to risk killing your $200+ console.
