But now, how do I obtain a clean copy of the LocalFriendCodeSeed_B file. My buddy thinks it will get his 3ds banned if he dumps his and gives it to me.
It might if you're still banned from eShop, if they check your account again you WILL be banned and permanently for trying to bypass it. It happened a lot back when the Secureinfo_A thing worked. People who used it to bypass the online banned eventually got the dreaded hyperban. So your friend is smart.

Could anyone try this?

1. create emunand with emunand9
2. boot into emunand and unlink it with tinyformat (iirc that's how it worked)
3. get into D9 and to emunand dump for the file
4. inject it into sysnand
Someone test this please.

Well if you both play online you shouldn't get his. I have two consoles so I just duplicated it. I never play both console online anyway.

Yeah but those people who were playing legit merely have to call Nintendo and provide their receipt. Easy fix but inconvenient, another reason a few people can ruin things for the many. Although even playing legit online before release wasn't smart if you were trying to avoid the culling. CIA's don't use headers so there's no way to tell who's using a legit cart vs a dump = ban everyone using the server prematurely. That's just common sense too Lol

It's still a huge loss of face for them if they got more innocent customers in the net than pirates. Presumably, they go by the belief that legit customers will complain while pirates cut their losses and stay silent.

Nintendo isn't going to tell anyone straight up if it's perma or not, why would they want to give you reassurance after you fucked up? They couldn't care less.

i'm not asking nintendo to tell straight up that this is a perma or temp ban

im talking about that one post when they said that they're banning everyone that is playing online

of course i know that they wont give the info just like that <_<

Yeah but it's necessary to protect their product either way.

It's 100% impossible for anyone to own a legit digital copy right now, so anyone playing the game online with a console-generated header (not a physical cart) must have pirated the game. So they banned anyone that pirated the game. How are they in the wrong?
Eerrr, actually the game is selling right now in my city.

EDIT: didn`t saw the "Legit DIGITAL version". Sorry.

oh btw guys, for the love of god, please BACKUP your original localfriendcode, in the event that this is temporary you'll be able to restore it and won't have to deal with any issues.

Hi all,

Have little bit strange story:
Currently I have 2 New 3DS XL, console #1 and console #2

1. Downloaded CIA on #1, played, used online for couple of minutes
2. After few days I've did a system transfer to console #2
3. Today after this ban wave announce.. guess which system is banned?

yeah.. console #2 is banned, where Pokemon Moon never existed :) It's kinda strange. Console #1 is totally fine.

Just took the one from my O3DS.

Banned from playing the said content (i.e. pirated pokemon) sure, everything else? That's just extremely shortsighted from Nintendo and will result in legit users being impaired as well. How? By buying banned consoles on the second hand market without knowing it.

It's the X360 Live bans drama all over again. Countless legit buyers got scammed could it be through ebay, craigslist and so on. Banning hardware achieve nothing.

It doesn't discourage pirates (well you can't even access the eshop anymore so not like you can buy games can you?). All it does is forcing them to be more careful and impairing legit users. Something like a soft ban (i.e. pirated copies of moon/sun can only play with other pirates) would have been more efficient. You still protect legit users from pirates and keep the "legit" ecosystem clean yet without making thousands hardware units useless.

nah, you will have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life if you choose to rip off another player for your own mistake

Console 2 now has Console 1's original NNID. Since this is a retroactive ban and you played online on console 1, that info got transferred to console 2, thus the ban going to that console.
