In my Country the License Agreements are not legal because they say you are not allowed to modify the System Software but in Germany you can with your Software what you want for Example the
guarantee of iPhones are over when you Jailbreak it but in Germany you get a new one when your Phone is not destroyd by the Jailbreak. and yes you have a right to Download your games you paid for and acces PokeBank if you paid for the service otherwise you can get your money back an friend had the Problem with GTAV and Modding he got the 60€ back
Hacking something and straight up piracy are 2 different things.

Welp, this was the first time I installed a game from other than freeShop. If by a miracle the ban is temporary it will be the last time I install games from other than Nintendo's own servers.

I knew when SciresM posted that tweet about the version number metadata field in the CIA being v0 instead of the correct v32 that this was a likely outcome. Though it may have been simply a blanket ban on anyone who went online before release date.

Oh well. It happens. I never really cared much for the multiplayer stuff anyway. Hopefully a reliable method to change will surface. If not, them's the breaks. No use crying over spilt milk as they say.

Sucks for people who paid for stuff on the eShop though.

As others have said, the 3DS only has a couple years of life left anyway. And max 5 before Nintendo shuts down Nintendo Services for the 3DS. So IMO it's not that big of a loss unless you paid for eShop content.

Also guys remember that the black friday N3DS will be out soon. Almost like Nintendo planned the whole ban to increase their 3ds sales.

i'm safe as well didn't play at all online except one time i tried the plaza but only for 10sec but my N3DS was still on online the whole time i played. Anyway i deleted that cia since i ordered the game i just wanted to try it before playing it ( too much impatient ). i'm actually wondering for people having that leak cia from moon if they will play it online when the game is released officially. i mean did they detect the people playing online in the plaza or Trade or can they detect that the cia is not legit? like knowing exactly all the games installed in your system if your 3DS is constantly online

Think we'll know more about the ban being permanent or not by next week? Or a way to bypass it?
No sense to get my pre-order if I only get part of the game.

I'm getting the 007-2670 code. Haven't got in online mode in Pokémon. Please telle me this isn't a ban :(

Heh, idiots. That's why I bought the game. It was too obvious that they'll start banning people for a customised cia version of the game.

I seem to recall (from reading it here, a very long time ago in the brickway days) that to access online carts use some data from the cart-unique info, while with digital games console-unique info is used instead. If Nintendo knows which is which (and it's likely, as they are able identify if the cart data is valid, so there has to be a "is cart-unique data"/"is console-unique data" flag of sorts in the data sent to the servers) all they need to do is ban everyone who goes online using a CIA version of S/M. Reviewers are unaffected as they use carts. Would be interesting to know if people who use brickway with the .3ds + a private cart header were banned (I doubt so).

There are reports of brickway users not getting banned

It seems like everyone got banned late after the weekly maintenance. Could be possible that the people who went online and didnt get banned might be next week.
I dont think so, the Next week there are a million of people playing xd

Unrelated. The problem was using a digital copy to play online when the game is absolutely impossible to get that way legally until the 18th. Using a cart dump isn't the problem per se.

Source: I make backups of all my carts and play online with them. Zero issues.
