Yeah just saw that there are about 10-12 games in the russian forum site.
You downloaded them and injected on 4.81.. can u confirm it works?

This method needs two units of PS3 the CFW as the master and OFW as the target.

1. downloadhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4B...ew?usp=sharing
2. extract it to C:, it will be PS3>Game Convert>Convert.bat and make_npdata.exe
3. copy any PS3_GAME that have LICDIR folder in it, if it doesn't have then you have to find it yourself with LICDIR Generàtor onlinehttp://jonnysp.bplaced.net/lic.php#
4. paste it inside Game Convert folder, it will be PS3_GAME, Convert.bat, make_npdata.exe
5. double click Convert.bat, type NPxxxxxx, these x are your retail game id. for instance, the game id is BLES12345, then you must type NPEB12345.
6. wait untill it finishes its job
7. make a glass of hot cocoa
8. when it's done, you can see a new folder exist.
9. downloadthe patch updàte for that game (BLES12345) and extract it. put the eboot.bin out of it. place it in NPEB12345/USRDIR/
10. create a folder named TEST on an external HDD (FAT 32)
11. copy NPEB12345 and BLES12345 (the extracted patch update), paste it into folder TEST.
12. on PS3 CFW 4.81, copy the two files into dev_hdd0/game..
13. do Rebuild Database
14. the game will be shown in XMB
15. turn on PS3 OFW 4.81 and plug an ethernet cable and connect it to PS3 CFW one.
16. on CFW, go to Settings> System Settings> Data Transfer Utitlity> pick number 1> say no> say no> waiting for transfer> enter
17. on OFW do the same way, but pick number 2, just wait till it gets questions for asking to format, hit yes and yes.
18. and transferring, happy waiting
19. drink your no longer hot cocoa
20. profit

Did you not edit the SFO?

both games are iso
notice gta data install wich is not present in psn version of gta

read video description

I have read your description and your methods looks interesting, seems that you can release something without the need of Injection nor HDD formatting, I'd like to ask you some questions about this.

A) Will your method also work with OFW 4.70?
B) Will your method also work with games that don't have patches nor updates? (example: Tales of Xillia Games, Neptunia games, etc)
C) Is your method also be compatible with normal CFW PKG's or it will only work with PS3 isos to PKG ofw isos only?

I hope you can answer these, as seeing that the method we have now is quite the hassle to do.

A) i didnt test for 4.7x ,but i think its going to work
B)i'm afraid no, maybe dlc
C) maybe i will work on it and post result, but for the moment i'm glad that all iso that have patchs can work using my way to extand the compatibility of games using this thread (russians) tutorial
until release pls don't update to latest ofw

Last edited by furtsiv,

both these videos show multiman installed on the console, which means they are not Official Firmware, and if you used a custom firmware machine to transfer the games it's not just "injecting"

did you use that fat ps3 with custom firmware to transfer the game to the slim official firmware?

you seem contradicted ,and no its ofw you can see multiman give error
first video i used ps3 cfw for transfert , second video i did not use a second ps3 for the transfer

I tried following the naming conventions from the Russian site for Japanese titles, BLJSXXXXX for updates and NPJBXXXXX for the base game, and every one of them returns with the "80010006" error. Did I get it wrong, or do JP region games not work? (Single PS3, 4.80)

I am a noob in ps3 hacking, I would just like to know if my fat ps3 4.80 can load games with this. Thanks in advance :)

I'm seeing conflicting information on the web about this. Some people claim this works on OFW 4.81 without a CFW PS3. I'm not seeing anything about people on 4.70, and it looks like this has been around since April of this year, so it's hard to tell what firmware some of these posters were on at that time.

And if this truly was your work - Thank you so much!

This happened to me with USA Tales of Symphonia game. The injection definitley worked as it showed the game in menu but failed to launch with that same error. Perhaps we should try leaving the naming convention as the game title ID and not rename to what they have in the guide?

I'm debating formatting my whole system to make the process go quicker, right now it's backing up ~25GB due to other official titles installed, and takes me about 4 hours per attempt due to that.

Maybe that could work. I'm trying to inject Kamen Rider: Battride War Sousei with the PARAM.SFO and folder changed from 'BLJS10324' to 'BLUS10324'. I'll make a smaller backup to test with my games after this test, since right now I'm injecting a 75~GB backup.

right now I'm injecting a 75~GB backup.

Ouch haha, Yeah I'm thinking of formatting since I can't play any of the titles without logging into PSN, which requires an update anyway. I'm also assuming I could always restore my 4.7 backup even if I updated to 4.81 to get them all back, so no harm in trying.

Okay, so I think the reason behind none of the backups working on 4.76 or 4.81 have to do with the method. So let me elaborate on what I'm doing so any of you can correct me.

I downloaded the game_convert.zip, PkgView & the TrueAncestor Injector.

I copy PS3_GAME in the folder I extracted game_convert.zip into. The LICDIR isn't present so I use http://jonnysp.bplaced.net/lic.php to generate one and place in in \PSP_GAME\LICDIR.

I then run the .bat file and type in the NPEB30264 string. I got the number from the source game that I'm using.

After the batch program is done converting I copy the output (NPEB30264) folder under "\TrueAncestor\game".

Next I find the update using PSNSTUFF using the title ID. I download it and extract the contents and then move the "BLUS30264" folder into the "\TrueAncestor\game" directory.

I then copy the "eboot.bin" file from the "BLUS30264\USERDIR" into the "NPEB30264\USRDIR" folder.

Next I use PS3SFOEDIT to load the SFO of the UPDATE and then use another instance of PS3SFOEDIT to open the SFO of the backup. I change the Version, App. Version & the PS3_SYSTEM_VER in the backups SFO to match the UPDATE SFO.

I then create a backup on the PS3 and copy the backup folder (201611111802 in my case) to the "\TrueAncestor\backup" folder.

I then run TrueAncestor and pick "1" and select the system backup folder, then I pick "3" and add both the backup game folder and the update folder, then I pick "S" to inject it into the system backup.

I copy the "201611111802" folder onto the USB device and restore it.

Does that sound right because none of the games I try work and I'm using one of the games from the list of working games on the Russian site.
