Um... What? I don't get it
If you don't understand how to install Arm9 payloads (Hint: you just stick them in the correct directory on the SD, usually the root) then perhaps you should revisit the "usage and options" section of the Luma 3DS page (or whatever you're using for chainloading payloads)

Translation: "Put the pre compiled payload on the root of your SD card, rename your CFW payload as [arm9payload.bin] and put that in SD/anim/ with the configuration folders" Assuming you have screeninit, and animation in the "0" folder and a config, your DS will boot normal while showing the animation first, unless another payload is loaded instead, i.e decrypt9.

I need a suggestion, how can i set this up on CTRNAND? i wanted to use this but i'm not so sure how to set this up.
Should i put bootanim9's bin on the CTRNAND? what about the folder and also Luma's folders?

I would not mess with it. if you mess up, you can boot A9LH from SD card to repair anything.

what I have found out:
with A9LH v2, Bootanim9 needs to be named "arm9loaderhax_si.bin" or it will not show the animation and hang from lack of screen-init. [the first page needs to be changed to point this out]
Bootanim9 itself would need to be updated to search CTRNAND for arm9payload.bin and the animations before it could be used in CTRNAND

I knew that bit, but it's the other setup that makes me confused, like arm9payload location. That's why i'm asking here first before tinkering with CTRNAND.
Though if it's not compatible yet, i can just use Luma payload without BootAnim9.

Probably a silly question. I recently had to delete this off my sd card to get High Memory Mode working for games like Smash and Pokemon. Can I re-setup this and have my boot anim back along with HMM?

You probably used Luma - and didn't use the pathchanger. You might wanna give it a shot again if you want to.

Sorry, but I won't support booting from CTRNAND as it's off the scope of this project.

Gonna fix that ASAP.

Yeah, I was trying to swap to Pathchanger at the time. I'll try it again now anyway since I have Luma's pathchanger done anyway, just to redirect with BootAnme :) Thanks for the reply.

the main page mentions that it does automatic payload patching so pathchanger is not needed. it is needed or am I misinterpreting what you said.

also, I think CTRNAND boot would be nice to have animated messages for when the SD Card is removed.
Like a flashing screen that mentions that the SD card is removed, or one that states that you are now in sysNAND, if you have an SD card with EmuNAND and the console is booted without one.

Edit: Fixed big typo, the console can not be booted without a SysNAND, fail on my end for not checking

I'll consider it.

Hmm.. I cannot make this working...

rename arm9loaderhax.bin to arm9loaderhax_si.bin on the root of the SD card
this is because screen init is needed. if that fails, then the videos are either named wrong or not working.

if it still does not work, check the to make sure the anim files and arm9payload.bin are in the right folders.

if that fails and you are using your own video, try a working one from the animations thread to make sure it is not the animation you made not working.
