Updating from rxTools to Luma3DS

Follow https://3ds.guide to install Boot9strap, the latest and best setup you can have. It's super easy to setup, highly recommended to make the switch. Stop using EmuNAND and menuhax!!
Also, there's a step in the guide that has you move EmuNAND to sysNAND. So you won't lose any of your stuff in the end.

If you want personal one on one help with the process, send me a PM or let me know in a reply. It's also much quicker with my help than doing it on your own.

when I do this it gives me the "this version is not recognized" page, does this mean I did something wrong in the steps before this? I don't knoow if it makes a difference but I've never downloaded the two other hacks in the tutorial and I'm using a micro SD card with an adapter for New 3DS
 
Hi,i used to play online till now when i try to connect with any game à message appears and tell me that i should do a system update.Im a little afraid about that,should i do the update ?
Im on Emu 11.1.0 now

While in emunand, go to system settings, confirm that it says emu on top then do a system update in other settings.

3. Extract the arm9loaderhax.bin file to the root of the SD
4. In the Luma3DS zip, go into the "MSET" folder and drag and drop the Luma3DS.dat file to the root of your SD, replacing any that exists.
5. Rename Luma3ds.dat file to launcher.dat
6. Delete the rxTools folder

Now when you open System Settings > Other Settings > Profile > Nintendo DS Profile it will boot into Luma3DS CFW​

Hi, Im trying to switch from rxTools to Luma, but dunno what I have to do exactly. I did that I quoted and didn't work.

Right now I have sysnand on 4.5.0-8E and emunand on RX3D 11.2.0-35E. I use the NDS profile menu hack to get into rxTools.

My rxTools just keep regenerating missing files (rxTools folder) and that's all.

From this point, what should I do?

I hope you can help me with this :/
 
I've another question please,my NNID don't want to connect i read that i have to log on NNID from sysNAND how could i do that because in setting im always on emuNAND

Same here, rxtools still loads. launcher.dat on the root is a gateway file i believe anyway, so i tried spider browser method to launch gateway with replaced launcher.dat, didn't work.
 
bro i don't know how to send a private message here, but still here is my current setup,
i have a japanese o3ds on 9.2J Sysnand firmware,
followed samiams tutorial on installing rxtools, then region changed emunand to 11.2U EMUNAND
and followed his tutorial on Launching rxTools at Boot - Menuhax!
and played so many titles
and enjoyed it so! (THANKS to samiam for the help on his thread and directing to this thread!)
sadly, Extended memory mode is not supported by rxtools (as far as i have researched) Therefore i (cannot play/ wont be able to play) titles such as:
Pokemon SUN/MOON
MH4U
SSB
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

up to this moment, I have not tried installing luma I am planning will try on a later time may be tommorow or later after work.
May i ask, is this way of installing luma3ds cfw will have the same function and capabilities as the same CFW as the one at plailect's Guide?
and bro PM so that I would be prepared up to installing arm9loaderhax thank you so much!

Luma does have reboot patches. However, going to Arm9loaderhax is highly recommended.
 
Hello, I was having some issues with this tutorial, so hopefully somebody can help!

I had installed rxTools quite some time ago, and hadn't used my 3DS for a few months. Now, I'm trying to update to Luma3ds using the tutorial, and I ran into a problem with Step #6 for "Those who don't have menuhax installed:"...

I'm able to get the Homebrew launcher up and running, and when I try to install menuhax, I get this error code:

My 3DS is currently on version 9.0.0-20U, if that helps in any sort of way.

mtheall's servers are down right now so menuhax_manager won't work.

I might be wrong, but was there not an offline Menuhax installer? I kind of recall seeing that somewhere, but it might have been my imagination.

I have an old o3DS on 9.0 that i was running RX Tools on. I've since gotten a N3DS and haven't touched the old one in a while, so i figured I'd mail it to a friend that really wants to play the new pokemon games. So i tried to use Luma since it seems like the new thing (I run ReiNand on my N3DS, as I'm too afraid to brick it if I install A9LH, even though I've installed it to another friend's o3DS I don't want to lose my MM N3DSXL to a 1% chance) and RX Tools seems really outdated. I digress, when i try to launch Luma through MenuHax it tells me something is wrong with the payload. I'm using the payload that it included, or am I missing something?

TL;DR: Luma won't launch through MenuHax but RX Tools will, how do I fix what's causing Luma to not launch, or should I even care because he just wants Pokemon?

Did you also extract the arm9loaderhax.bin to the SD? It is needed even if you don't use A9LH.

Need help with something.
I had my sysNAND at 4.0~ so I followed Plailect's guideto install Luma3DS

I did a mistake here:

"2. Copy the 2.1.0 .bin and .bin.sha from the ctrtransfer zip to the /files9/ folder on your SD card"

I did copy em' at the root of my SD instead of the /files9/ folder. Didn't notice until it was too late ...
During my attemp on Installing arm9loaderhax I got an error that says something like "stage1.bin doesn't exist or exceeds max size"...

HALP!

I can't run Decrypt9WIT and my sysNAND is 2.1.0... I do have a backup but since I can't run Decrypt9 I can't restore it.
