I just want an option to turn of this forced bilinear filter it's on all the ones I've tested so far
I'm also not fond of the bilinear filter, but hey, first things first.
First make the cores work properly, then they can focus on settings and other stuff like an XMB menu for Wii U too. :)

Same it just amazes me that I can play CPS2 and Neo-Geo games on my Wii U

I haven't yet.
I'm struggling with the Appstore crashing or freezing right when it's about to finish the download.

I just download them manually from the actual site on a computer browser, might want to try that if it's crashing on the Wii U. I can confirm it's the same as Fix94's build.

Also, trying to make a Wiki for these emulators, and it's...not working so well, might PM ya on that for help :P

So, regarding SNES emulation, which one do you guys recommend? vWii emulators or RetroArch Wii U?
RetroArch Wii U by far, it runs the games even vWii struggle with at full speed; Star Fox, Yoshi's Island and Kirby's Dream Land 3 run full speed.

CPS1: Working! (tested with: Final Fight, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting) *
CPS2: Working! (tested with: Marvel vs. Capcom, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes)
FBA 2012: Won't load fully in the Homebrew Launcher.
Neo Geo: Working! (tested with: Art of Fighting 3, Fatal Fury 3, King of Fighter '96, The Last Blade 2, Metal Slug 4-5)
FCEUMM: Working! **
Gambatte: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
GenesisPlus GX: Black screen, won't load the GUI.
Mednafen NGP: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
Mednafen PCE Fast: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
Mednafen SuperGrafx: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
Mednafen VB: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
Mednafen Wswan: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
mGBA: Working! GBA games only, GB games crash and CODE DUMP.
Nestopia: Exception Type DSI Error, CODE DUMP.
Quicknes: Working!
Snes9x 2010: Working!

* don't load more than one rom without exiting the emulator, it will hard-crash the console.
** if you go back to menu, pressing Resume will crash the emu and go back to Homebrew Launcher. You can load another ROM to circumvent this.

Do not get fooled, vWii SNES emulators are 99% stable. The only game that will run slower is Star Fox, everything else is A-OK and fully working.

Hmm I thought Kirby's Dream Land 3 actually runs at 53-55 fps on RetroArch Wii, many of the levels use pseudo hi-res mode 7 for (underwater/volcano/canopy effects) have quite a noticeable dip in performance and audio crackling. To my knowledge, that's never been fixed on the Wii port. The being said, still beats the Wii U VC by far. Ah, didn't know that about FCEUMM, no wonder it crashed when I loaded a couple of games last night. As for the SD read/access times, it takes about 60 seconds to access the ROM director I noticed at least, on average.

It takes less than 1 second to load any game for me. No problem browsing folders, either.

Wii / Wii U VC works perfect for each and every game it is tailored to. Remember, its a custom emulator made for a specific game only.

it worked fine on the Wii version to me, but I use it on a old retroarch version, so idk

Er, not talking about actual game loading per se, but about the GUI navigation, going to "Load Content" to open up the ROM folder, it takes a minute for it to generate the list of games, not the actual loading ROMs itself. I can record a video of it if need be. I don't know how complex of an issue that is to resolve. Also choosing "recent" for the recently played games, same deal, 60 seconds to load the list.

I can think of an instance where it doesn't work exactly right, Chrono Trigger, the Lavos scream is actually off, but I digress. The Wii U VC is far more accurate then the Wii was however :P

Again, it is totally instantaneous for me, be it navigation, folder browsing, or ROM loading.

Then what do you suggest? Is it because my ROM folder has too many files in it? I can't for the life of me figure out why it takes to stinkin' long on my end.:wacko: Do you have different folders for each ROM type? I placed all of them inside for RA, it should not take 60 seconds for me, it didn't do that on the Wii port.

Edit: Maybe it's time for a new SD card.

I'm guessing it's the file amount.
I don't have more than 20-30 games per console and ut doesn't take that much to load the ROM list.

I'm using a fairly low end SD card. Load Content is pretty snappy as long as the target ROM folder is about 200 files or less.

I'm guessing it's the file ampunt

This is weird loll, my SDHC card might be too slow, but it was instant on vWii, which doesn't make any sense. I guess I do need a new, UHS-1/Class-10 SD card.
How do you arrange the folders in such a way where navigating isn't a pain when you want to change games for each core?

I see, time for me to rearrange folders. The only problem with this though, is I would have to navigate to a different ROM folder for each core that I load, and according to this, I have about 555 files in the ROM folder.

It might be that the SD card access isn't optimized in the Wii U port.
Something to back this up is the fact that initializing the core takes a while, and booting it up does too.

Huh.. What I don't get though is that he said opening the ROM list was almost instant, but isn't on my end, and another user said it was fairly quick for him too.
