I've been using WUP Installer MOD to install games to USB/system memory. Every time I've done this and a game needs an update, I've just let the Wii U update the game the "normal"/legit way.

But the more I read on these forums, I keep reading people talking about using WUP Installer and NUBGrabber and others to get updates for their games. Am I missing something/doing something wrong? Can't you just let the Wii U update the games?

I've done maybe 4 or 5 games this way, and they work fine after the update, from USB or system memory

Thanks, keen to learn as much as possible

Some people don't want to update the normal way because they are scared Ninty might push 5.5.2 And patch the exploits.

As of now 5.5.1 is the current fw, and you have nothing to worry about. It's fine to update games the normal way. Just make sure you block Ninty servers afterwards through your router or tubehax,

Thanks. I was using TubeHax, but reverted back to regular DNS so I could update games easily. Once I have all the games I want installed, I'll go back to TubeHax.

Am I right in saying TubeHax only stops updates/eShop, not online gaming?

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
