So as you now Sony and MS love to release slimmer and more powerful variants of their consoles i.e PS4 Pro and XB1 Slim.

And im well aware that i may be getting ahead of myself but regardless of whether or not the Nintendo Switch does well.

Do you think Nintendo will release slimmer or more powerfull versions of the switch? If yes then when would you assume such a thing could happen? 2018? 2019?

And if they did release said slimmer and more powerful versions of the switch would you upgrade to the latest switch versions? But not only that do you think Nintendo will stop making upgraded variants of the 3DS and Wii U? (There was a wii mini! do you think we could get a cute Wii U Mini ^_^?)

The reason i ask is due to the fact that many people i now are quite agitated at Sony and MS for releasing upgraded versions so suddenly(im referring to my friends who bought the OG ps4 this year).

Lastly do you think the release of an upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch will mark the end to our current console and handheld generation?
What do you think the future holds? do you think Nintendo and the other two biggest console manufacturers will focus soley on VR or might we see a PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 or XB2 in the next decade or so?

Please share your thoughts

I second that, I'd go for a Switch Micro/Mini that uses the same control scheme but is about the size of a smartphone for exclusively on-the-go gaming
*buy nintendo switch* *come back home* *plug it* *says youve got news* *nintendo announce micro switch*

People are already asking for a console only version, so I'm sure it is coming.
wii mini, 3ds xl.
maybe there will be switch xl with bigger tablet
I doubt they would go bigger. People are already complaining about portability.

I hope a smaller version in the future, but it might be just my fetishism
I can see them coming out with a smaller one tho. Maybe 5in screen. I don't mind the screen size it has now, personally.

No reason to think that the smaller one can't still be used as a console.

DS to DSi
3DS to new3DS
Nintendo already does the same thing, although it only seems to be with their handheld systems, they still do it.
Dunno. Aside from the ps4 pro and Scorpio, Sony and MS only have released smaller variations. Nintendo gives us some sort of upgrade.

a mini version might be impossible to make. i mean, itsa powerful console. is there going to have enough space in that mini version to stuff all the powerful component of the console?
In 2-3 years time there might be more powerful hardware in a smaller profile.
