Hey guys, just bought a fat Vita on 3.36..
Got a Slim on 3.60 with HENkaku so I thought it would be dumb to update this one (looking for PSP support).

But what is the best way to hack it? Tried reading a lots of threads but I´m getting kind of confused.

Should I buy one of those games on PSN (Patapon 2, Numblast) or are there another easier way?
I read I need a PS3 so I can use it to buy the game online and then transfer to the Vita.
Is it possible to use an updated Vita instead (got one of those too that I´m about to sell) and buy the game and transfer it to the Vita with 3.36?

This has of course been answered a hundred times already and I´m sorry but I feel lost in this jungle.

It's very likely 3.60 will get complete access to PSP emulator. It's just a matter of time. My suggestion is update to 3.60 and get a demo PSP game while it's possible.

Thanks. But since I got one on 3.60 already I believe I will stick with 3.36 on this one for a while. What do you mean by "get a demo PSP game while it's possible"? Could I get any one? Isn´t Patapon 2 or similar required anymore?

Thank you again so much for answering!

Ok thank. But that is for 3.60? So it´s a WIP? Do you know if PSN games can be transfered from one PS Vita to another? I´m talking about transfering from a 3.61 Vita to a 3.36? I read you need a PS3 otherwise for the already working exploits on lower fw..

Edit: Oh, I suppose this ONLY works on 3.60 and not older firmwares. But still, is it possible to use any eCFW or Bubbles or anything today? Or are all those exploits removed? I will of course use this pspemu on my 3.60 when released. But I´m talking about today, any chance to get PSP games working on my 3.36?

This pspemu exploit will work on HENkaku that only works on 3.60.
You can still use TN and ARK on 3.36 but I'm not very familiar with how thats done.
I think it would be possible to transfer a PSP game from PSV to PSV (3.61 to 3.36) if they both are registered to the same PSN account. Then you can use QCMA or open CMA to transfer between consoles. You'd probably not even need a ps3 for this. But again I'm not sure of anything regarding this.

Thank you so much guys! One last question I guess.. Is it possible to access the PSN Store with 3.60 or does it require 3.61? I deactivated WiFi on my 3.60 since I was scared it would update to 3.61. But is it ok to activate WiFi and access the PSN Store without have to worry it could update?

Once you enable HENkaku, you can access PSN. If HENkaku isn't enabled then it will prompt update. Also disable auto update in settings.

Ok thank you!

Few more questions of course...

1. I bought a pre used Vita, and of course the sellers PSN-account was registered but deactivated. I read that you have to do a system recovery to erase the earlier users account? I can´t just add my own account somehow?

2. If I do a system recovery, will it stay at the same firmware version (3.60)? No chance in hell it could update to 3.61?

3. Any other possible way to fix this without a system recovery?

4. I bought the game "Numblast" on another Vita with my user account. Should I be able to just login to my account and download that game on this other Vita also?

5. Is that game, Numblast, something "PSN-related" enough? I could use the pspemu with help of this game when it get released?

You can do a system recovery, reboot. Go to settings>system and untick 'update firmware automatically at reboot' (Important step before to set up wifi !! ). Then use wifi and browser to visit http://henkaku.xyz. Then once henkaku reinstalled, still on 3.60, you can activate by visiting PS store on your account. Then you have access to download what you have already bought. Just don't activate the vita BEFORE you visit and install henkaku, deny it if it is proposed at reboot (you will be in demo mode). Install HENkaku and THEN try to visit the PS store. Never agree for any firmware update and you'll be fine.
I don't know about numblast but any psp title from the store should work, or even any cheap mini title, or download ape quest demo if you have a european account.

Hmm, under Settings -> System, I got something called "Auto-Start Settings". If I go there I got something called, "Download Update File for System Software". Is that the one to untick? Or where can I find this "update firmware automatically at reboot"?

Also, when trying to do a system recovery. I go to: Format -> Restore the PS Vita System. Is that correct? Because I´m getting a warning screen (that everything will be erased) and have to press "Restore". When pressing "Restore" I get a new info screen telling me that: "Your PS Vita system is activated with a PSN Account. If you restore the system, you will not be able to deactivate this PS Vita system later. Do you want to deactivate the PS Vita System before restoring?" I get a YES and NO option. All accounts are deactivated already (logged off). If I press YES it says that it will close all applications. I press YES again. It then asks me to activate Wi-Fi. I press NO and it says that Wi-Fi is turned off". I press OK. Then I get back to square one again (the first screen which warns me that everything will be erased).

So do I have to activate Wi-Fi to complete this or should I press NO at the first question about "Your PS Vita system is activated with a PSN Account. If you restore the system, you will not be able to deactivate this PS Vita system later. Do you want to deactivate the PS Vita System before restoring?"

Yes, untick that auto download check box

Deactivating the console from PSN is to unlink his account from the console. Not the same as logging off. Your seller (and everyone's Psn account) has a max limit of consoles that can be linked to it (I do not know the specifics). Delinking his account will allow your seller to add another console to his account. If you wish to do so, enable HENkaku (if youre already on 3.60) and then deactivate his account so this way you won't trigger update prompt. If not, just restore it and forget about it, it will not affect the console at all, you can sign in your account no problem. He can probably unlink from his PC later.

Ok thank you. Henkaku is activated. But how do I deactivate the earlier owners account? Is there an option in settings? Or is there an application together with henkaku? You are saying I dont need to perform a system restore to get rid of his account this way?

Or is the system restore required anyway?

Thanks again man. You are a life saver!

You will need to system restore. Activate Henkaku then go to system restore. When it gives you the message as before, click YES and this time allow Wifi to connect to PSN and it will unlink his account. After that, proceed with system restore/format memory card
