So I downloaded this IOS Patcher for Wii U (https://github.com/larsenv/IOS31-Patcher/releases/tag/v1.2.1) and i downloaded the Wii U version. Then I dumped IOS31 from my vWii with YABDM. Then I patched the .wad on my computer with the patcher. It made a new .wad. So is it safe to install this patched IOS31 pn my vWii? I used the IOS31 dumped from my vWii. (I am installing .WADs with YAWMM)

If you use the correct version, the Wii U version, yes. It is safe to install. Never used it though (RiiConnect). According to the site it is recommended to use wii though if you want these functionalities apparently.

Backup IOS wads? Yeah, I dumped my vWii's keys, NAND, and IOS right after I installed the HBC

Yes, you NEED the original vIOS 31(which you said you backed up) safe and sound(for the future).
Because: even though it is unlikely that the vWii will ever be updated, if there is an update for the Wii U IOS system files(in the future), you would most likely not be able to update without reinstalling ALL of the "stock"/original vWii vIOS,first.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
