Just the .pbp file :) No need for folders, just put it into wherever you would've put your bin/cue files. Do rename it into something more recognizable though, Eboot.pbp isn't exactly helpful :3

Sorry, I just jumped into this thread wanting to give FF7-8-9 a try again on my psvita, whats this talk about "pbp" making games smaller, does that remove the need for big bin files?

Can anyone tell the difference between the snes emulators that come in retroarch package? They are 4 and do not know which is the best.

The PSP used pbp files for PS1 games and the ps1 emulator in the RetroArch package is capable of using these as well. They are essentially the same as iso/bin/cue but without the junk data, so the file size is in most cases much smaller, close to 50% in many cases. Use psx2psp to convert the aforementioned formats and enjoy the games. You do need a base.pbp but that one is easily google-able.

It's in the OP but it looks the 2005 version (not plus) is the most stable at the moment.

well you need the bin/cue files to make the pbp file , but it will be much smaller then the bin/cue as an example the file size for brave fencer musashi is 356,296KB while the pbp file is 229,306KB

I hear talk about the new L2/R2/L3/R3 functions in pcsx in retroarch, but the last two nightly builds are defunct on the site. What's goin' on?

Games downloaded from the PSN are also working great with PCSX. Final Fantasy VIII, IX and Legend of Dragoon, all run with almost stable 50FPS. Even better than the original PS1 emulator.
Also, is there a changelog somewhere, still using an older version of the pcsx emulator. But I've got no clue if it's "worth" updating. c:

Is there something specific you need to do to get games to save properly in pcxs? I can't seem to play games without using save states

Just checking back. I set up the bios folder with the recommended PS1 bios files, and testing the games again. No dice. Also tried a couple .bin games, Valkyrie Profile and Guardian's Crusade. I get crashes in the same exact place as with with pbp versions. Here's my folder bios setup.

Also, I tried that Vita Fix Permissions app, but got the same results. Figured it was worth testing with that.View attachment 64522

The way you are transferring the files is the problem.

Try transfering using FTP. Filezilla.

I'm waiting for the toolchain to be updated on the buildbot, when that happens you guys will get a new build with L2/R2/L3/R3 support for PS TV and rear touchscreen support for L2/R2/L3/R3.
When you say L3/R3 you mean pushing down on the sticks will work Like a button press ?
Cause I installed the latest 10/2 cores and L2/R2 work but movement with the thumbsticks doesn't in the ps1 core
Unless I turn on in quick setting/controller analog to digital left

which GBA vpk i need to install to get the best fps i cant find VBA NEXT someone help please this my third post
There is mGBA which you can find at https://mgba.io/downloads.html. For retroarch gpsp (you need the gba_bios.bin)is good and in the latest nightly VBA NEXT is listed. I haven't used vba_next that much but it seems to work at full speed.

Surely people in this thread are filling up their memory cards with goods.

Anyone have a card crap out on them?
Just bought a 64gb and can't help but be nervous about all the horror stories I've read with them. Fingers crossed!
