Hi, recently i got an old3ds, updated to 9.2.0 europe, my region, i use rxtools nightly with ctrbootmanager, and sysnand to play cia games, i got the most games to work, but some games when booted, stays at the Nintendo 3ds logo, and nothing, i think its because of the region, but before this 2ds played some japan games and they were good, anything i can do, use another cfw, use emunand instead?

Rxtool is dead, use Luma3DS instead (https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki)
Maybe the game is cryptofixed. Just visit the eShop page of the game to fix the problem, or download the seed of the game by another way (like FBI).
I recommend you to use FreeShop to download games.

Easy, most modern games simply aren't compatible with 9.2

I would suggest you to install A9LH + Luma using Plailect's guiide (which AFTER BEING INSTALLED will allow you to just update your sysnand whenever you want)!

You can flash your emunand to the sysnand and then update and it works perfectly (following the plailect guide)

pros of luma3ds is that it runs before anything else(official stuff and everything), so it's future-proof. Since it runs off the sysnand, it'll start correctly everytime, run faster, and you don't have to worry about accidental updates. Plus it's updated often and any small problems are addressed quickly(if there are any). I have my NNID on the latest firmware, and can still do absolutely everything I want with my 3ds. There are loads more reasons, those are just the reasons I like it.

Oh, and the original Rxtools is dead. I vaguely remember someone else trying to revive it to be relevant, but otherwise, no. It stopped being updated a long time ago.

wellllll it is a bit of a process. Shouldn't take over an hour or so. Longest parts are backing up your nand and writing to your nand.

Everything should stay the same. I recommend backing up your sd card contents at the moment. You will have to format your sd card at some point, as you'll be migrating an emunand, but you'll be able to copy back over the contents of your sd card and it'll work just as your emunand currently does.

https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki

the emunand link later on in the guide will show you how to port emunand to sysnand (It'll be obvious)

Yeah, everything should work exactly the same as you have it now. Once you finish the process of installing luma, when you boot up your device, all your games and saves from your emunand will still be there on your sysnand. I did it last week, and I had the same amount of games as you.

But yeah, just copy the contents of your SD card to a computer somewhere, so you have a backup of your stuff.

and if you have any questions about the guide, we're here to help. Be sure the follow the guide to the letter. Ask before doing anything, if you're unsure how to proceed.

Wait, i use rxtools with sysnand, not emunand. The backup includes The Nintendo 3ds folder too?

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
