Dragon Ball Fusions is getting a localization

The latest portable entry in the Dragon Ball series will be heading west for 3DS on December 13 for North America, and sometime 2017 for Europe according to Bandai Namco. In Dragon Ball fusions, you venture throughout the world of DBZ and can create a custom character to play as. The goal of the game is to fuse classic characters from the franchise, in order to fight powerful foes.

@Chary will you be reviewing this game? Cause i leave my decision on trying this until a demo is released or someone i trust has played it first. I dunno what to call this, a dragon quest dragon ball crossover? Weird part is that is all namco and not by square enix so i can't really say dragon quest has much to do with it. But it looks like it, considering i know the character designer has worked on dragon quest as well, i can't decide.

Perhaps there is hope. I see funimation is localize the game, so if the voice acting is there, then i'll be happy, Just how many Dragon ball games can go to different play styles, street fighter game, rpg game, MMO game, Adventure game, Button masher game, arena fighter, What next? Tactical strategy? I always thought dragon ball was best as a fighter, either like street fighter or like tekken which i felt the budokai series was mostly based off of. Who knows maybe they might reskin pokken tournement with dragon ball. Hmmm?

Receiving review codes isn't always guaranteed, so at a release date that's months in advance, it's unknown. As with the other modern DBZ games, a demo is highly likely. It's got nothing to do with Dragon Quest, just that Akira Toriyama does the art for both series.

Ummm sorry i don't get it, i'm not entirely sure about the review process, wouldn't you just go buy the game when is available, play it then make a review in the review section? Or are you one of those secret people who get the game early for review purposes like some game news company, like screwattack, or ign?

The latter is more accurate. We receive codes from time to time from developers to review their games. Depending on our resources and our moods, we can also choose to review the game ourselves by buying it ourselves.

So wouldn't that mean is your job to do reviews? Like being paid to right? Not volunteer? O_O
And the code, like the one you use to download the game onto the console, almost like download content? Or some other code i dunno about?

Akira Toriyama isn't just the character designer, he created Dragon Ball.

Edit: The only thing Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest have in common is that Akira Toriyama did the art for both.

Like a download code yes. In some ways it is a "job" to review the games but we volunteer our time to do so, out of dedication to the site and the community. It's not without its benefits either of course, all of the experience I garner here I will be using to pursue my career in PR and Marketing in the future. Ive already used many of the writings I've done here to give examples of my abilities as a writer for college credits and intern opportunities.

I consider the temp a second online home for myself, as well as an internship I dedicate myself to, which is probably the way the rest of our mag staff feels as well.

So glad this is an RPG game. I've been wanting one ever since I played DBZ:AotS which sadly never got a sequel. :(

Can't say I'm excited (Xenoverse had me hyped up but it was nothing more than a disappointment) about this but I'll surely get it when it's cheap.

Well that and the fact that jokes from original DB like "Puff-puff" were carried over to Dragon Quest franchise (people say this was due to Toei told Toriyama to tone down the jokes in DBZ so they could put the series in a more "appropiate" hour since original DB was aired in an adult schedule)
There's also the Tension mode (which was proposed by Akira). If you build tension goes to 100 in DQ8, protag literally transform into a Super Saiyan

Btw, for those who don't know what "puff-puff" is...

So is possible to include stuff like this and the reviews as reference for finding credibility in jobs if you are looking for one is that what you mean? I think that is good. :)

I don't need to be told what i already know, I know he also did the character and monster design in chrono trigger but i don't mention that do i? :creep:

I was just saying it looks like a combination of the two games, Besides the endless combinations of fusion and races, what exactly is the plot here if the central focus is fusion? It has to be some AU Crud.
