HoI!

I've got myself here a new PSP 3003 model, not sure what other info I can say other than I have 4GB memory stick pro duo.

It's updated to version 6.38, I can't connect it to my internet because the system doesn't support WPA2.

Anyway, how would I go around installing the latest firmware and a noob-friendly CFW?

Thanks

Download the 6.61. From playstation.com. Look up psp system update.
Install the PSP infinity firmware then follow directions to install PSP Pro permapatch into infinity. :)

Fair warning, psp infinity may still be bugged and has not been recently updated. My personal opinion is to stay on the current firmware and use the PSP pro CFW from there. Is not as bad, it has a fast recover option incase you accidentally shut off system for some reason. It also has better compatibility with CFW plugins and such, i notice a game won't work with it active for some reason and some reason the custom back ground home menu never saves after shutdown.

Okay, thanks! I'll be able to do it tomorrow afternoon, I'll let you know of any troubles along the way.
I'm leaving this here, is my personally recommended option.

The first option will be for the permenant PSP infinity Pro CFW for 6.61. This PRO CFW one is quick patch for 6.60. I think it has better overall stability with just about everything, while Infinity still needs work with some bugs that don't seem to be getting support anytime soon.

I'll install that once I get more of the hang of things, doesn't Infinity allow you to boot under a CFW?

Also, you said it was buggy and not updated in some time or something
Yeah, i know, it is for me. That why i had to remove it. The infinity makes it so it always boots pro cfw from cold boot. (Complete system shutdown equal to removing battery) Instead of having to use the recover option you put in the game folder which i also don't mind. That what the difference is. You don't have to if you just leave it into sleep mode, which i do a lot. So is just optional.

To describe it, if you familiar with 3ds a9lh, is kinda like that, not needing a memory card to boot cfw. Is no big deal if you just keep it in sleep mode.

Just curious you said you got psp 300X which is known as brite varitey, so how does the screen look? :yaypsp:

3000-X variety is nice, NES games at least don't looked washed out or anything like that. I like it. UMD videos look great on it too!

x)

Also yeah, I plan to keep it in Sleep mode the whole time :)
