Nah, the home menu and kernel hooks are defined in the open source part, which is extremely helpful for updating it to the latest version

Now I just need to figure out how to get an axiwram dump...

If you still need one, I can PM you one I dumped (it's just running an older bootntr build, right?).

3DS downloaded the update in sleep mode (what the hell Nintendo?!) but I didn't install it.
Any negative consequences to this?

At least it isn't the Wii u, where it downloads and installs it in sleep mode.

No negative consequences, you're good to use it as is. You can also use recovery mode to clear it out if it bugs you.

So let me get this straight. DSiWarehaxx still works on 11.1, it's just useless because we have no way of accessing homebrew to downgrade to 9.2 now? Asking because sys transfer makes you update and I'm aiming to get one of the galaxy n3dses that come with 11.0

How could I do this? Not that I want to... but could problems arise if another update arrivey and I still have the previous one's files yet didn't actually update? As in will old junk files interfere with the next update or remain on the system?

Look up 3ds recovery mode on google

Hold A+R+L+Up(in the D-pad), the console will get you to the update screen but press cancel instead, that will delete the updates that the console downloaded.
