Quick question,
Do you install NTR on your SysNAND or EmuNAND?

My SysNAND is at the most recent version ( 11.0 U ) and my EmuNAND is at 9.2 I'm pretty sure.
I tried downloading NTR on my SysNAND but it gave me a lot of strange error codes.
One being
"Unknown FIRM".
Any help? Thanks!

IMO=in my opinion. And just download and unzip both zips found here https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-bootntr-selector.432911/ and put the .cia's in a easy to find folder on your SD card and make sure that the ntr.bin's are on the root of your SD card, then boot NTR selector @Nanquitas needs to fix the icons so that you can distinguish the difference between them and choose 3.3 on NTR selector, reboot your 3DS and then launch BootNTR loader and then launch Animal Crossing.

You launch NTR on boot and make sure to not update to 11.1

-Removed France + Spanish versions until the plugin supports accent characters

Also:
Nintendo 3DS System Update 11.1.0 is out. DO NOT UPDATE!!!
It completely kills NTR and you can still go online with 11.0, so don't update yet.
Someone is working on fixing it as I write this, so I will let you guys know when it's safe to update.

well that aint doing anything. lol. i installed the cias from the fbi and bootNTR after i select but prob is even the selector is crashing. i wish i knew the prob

What cfw do you use... is it Luma? Also, make sure your sysNAND is on 11.0

my sysNAND is still 11.0. i wouldnt even begin updating till i knew how to start with. anymew i'm on a9lh.

A9LH is the hack that you use to boot cfw. I'm going to assume you're using Luma since it's the most popular cfw. Try downloading their updater https://github.com/Hamcha/lumaupdate/releases and update Luma to the latest version and see if NTR works.
If all else fails, you can try shadowtrance's build of BootNTR https://github.com/Shadowtrance/BootNTR/releases/tag/3.3-3D just install BootNTR_autoexit.cia and place the NTR.bin on the root of your SD card.

Okay, so I went to the selector .cia and I pressed A to install NTR 3.3
Now, I went to the boot .cia and it gave me codes saying again "unknown firm" "access checks couldn't be made" etc, things like that. And then after it does an address dump it looks like.
