Does anyone have a text-based guide to extracting the data0XX.bin file?

I'm in very limited mobile data rations right now and can't watch bandwidth-eating youtube videos.

Thanks :)

Aww, so we can't extract decrypted save data without dumping the whole game still? :( Oh well, thanks anyways, looks like I'll be playing P4G normally then!

The Tutorial that was linked was whole guide on how to access the decrypted data.

Once you have done up to step 10, from that point onwards to get the save of any game you will just need to follow from 11 onwards.

you dont need to dump the whole game to get the Save file. once you open up the game (with molecular shell in its patch folder) you have access to the un encrypted data, in FTP you just need to browse to Savedata0: and extract the data00xx.bin file(s)

if you are using a game dumped from Vitamin then you use a different appraoch.

you will need to follow this guide.

i found a way to decrypt the save file ftp:
1. go to ux0:/app/vitashell download the EBOOT.bin
2. go to ux0:/app/gameid download the EBOOT.bin of the game
3. change the EBOOt.bin of the game you want to edit to vitashells EBOOT.bin
4. close VS boot up the game it should boot the vitashell
5. connect to your ftp again
4. go to savedata0: you will see your save data file it should be decrypted
5. do the editing up to you. after that
6. replace your save data file with the edited one
7. go back to ux0:/app/gameid upload back the original game EBOOT.bin

I have the digital US version of P4G.

I'm following this tutorail and I'm stuck at step 11. Step 10 works correctly. I can open the game's manual through the webbrowser. I'm on a VitaTV and had to manually create the patch folder within ux0. I copied the contents from ux0:/app/MLCL00001 into ux0:\patch\PCSE00120 but after launching the game it doesn't boot into MolecularShell. It just starts P4G.

It appears to me that the files within the patch folder aren't being read. I verified the gameid. I verified if I copied the files correctly (the contents of MLCL00001 and not the folder itself.).

What could I be doing wrong?

Just posting to confirm that replacing P4G's eboot with either molecular shell or vitashell enables access to the decrypted savedata for backed up games (using Vitamin)

Yes, I am having the same issue. Editing the party's persona seems to work just fine, since they are tied to their respective personas level. However, Yu is separate from his multiple persona. not sure if this is a reason or not but thought it was interesting. the change log said that the new button would help calculate from Level, but it does have a warning on it stating its using the P3 formula and could be inaccurate. So my question is, do we use that button to solve this issue, or not? I mean my party for the most part is OP thanks to this, but one critical can knock my character out and I have to restart from the start of the floor. its a small annoyance though. Overall, this is an awesome program, so thanks to you guys responsible. the game already has so much replay value, and now you added to that!

Great stuff! Do you accept donations? Hope we get something like this for final fantasy x and x-2 soon! Tired of farming luck spheres lol.

There are ones for FFX and FFX-2 ?

Edit - Also just to note, these tutorials are for the people who own the game (either cart or digital d/l), if you have downloaded it via vitamin then you will need to use the below method to get access to the save data :)

Only found persona 4 difficult because I would be severely under leveled because I would rather spend time building relationships xD

Any chance of being able to edit the levels of party members? The slider is greyed out for party members that are not the main character.

Each party member outside the main character is tied to their Persona. just level up the persona and they follow suit. example: to level up Chie, just edit Tomoe's level and stats.

Unless you're talking about the FFX-X2 editor, in which case, I have no clue...

When I level up the main character, his level reverts to the original one. What am I missing?

this is my issue too. i have maxed out the party, but Yu keeps reverting. As i said, he isn't locked in to one persona, so he has his own level and stats. it doesn't matter if i use the "calculate from Level" button or not. he keeps reverting back.
