Nothing against their attempts, just it's a very difficult task, and I think they're not even trying to patch A9LH (that's why the rofl is there: that one is an implausible reason to explain the update delay).
HOME Menu deleting arm9.bin wouldn't be enough: you could just disable it, as you do with FIRM protection and other stuff.

well i don't think their going to add any more features to the 3ds so their updates are just to patch things

Not if they program the HOME Menu to detect and delete arm9loaderhax.bin, which would make A9LH a pain in the arse to use until a hack is released to prevent it.

how about: send update, update checks if there is a9lh on it.. after confirmation that it has hax, update messes up the system, making it overheating or mess up somehting on the hardware to make the console "kaput"
users put a lawsuit on nintendo, nintendo gets away with "you agreed with the user contract, you modified the system so you can't sue us"

they arent going to do that though the best that they can do is patch browser hax and menuhax again and remove field runners from the eshop and any other exploit games

Too likely to hurt users on stock firmware that happens to have a bad FIRM0. Also, a terrible PR move. There's a reason that AM2R only got DCMA'd after it came out, not before.

Furthermore, it would be pointless: a patch could always be implemented, and their image would be ruined. A9LH is here to stay.

Two months?! The least I can say is that you're a pretty optimistic guy! If we consider a console hacked only when there is a method available to users to play backup rom or isos, not a simple "Hello World" low quality vid on Youtube, then we should be in for a long wait.

Two months?! The least I can say is that you're a pretty optimistic guy! If we consider a console hacked only when there is a method available to users to play backup rom or isos, not a simple "Hello World" low quality vid on Youtube, then we should be in for a long wait.

wiiu was hacked as soon as it had vwii you could run hombrew on it with vwii guess you could say same with for 3ds you could use flash cards on it from launch and play ds homebrew on it

It's funny, Nintendo are known to be assholes able to do this, but it's a fact that they wouldn't, even if they can. Hell, they actually CAN, but what they ACTUALLY win with it? People with homebrew installed buy software too, a console bricked knowingly is about 10 clients lost, and it's a completely anti-consumer practice.

Nintendo can be arrogant sometimes, but not Sony/MS levels of arrogant.

the homebrew exploit is a hardware exploit so they only can patch entry points unless they fix gspawn which won't happen so homebrew will aways work if you have an exploit game

You were literally emulating a Wii, obviously that came with the same security issues the Wii had. So no, the WiiU itself wasn't hacked until much later.

The problem with A9LH is that almost anything they do to fix it, can be patched. So, they don't bother.

As for patching the homebrew entrypoints, I think since there's no free, easy and universally accesible method of downgrading on 11.0 (thanks to a well implemented minimum version check on ARM9 for system titles) they don't have any priority over this.
