PlayCast released, PS4 Remote Play for iOS

As reported a month ago, a PS4 Remote Play app for iOS has been in the works for some time. After a private beta, developer Bitwise Solutions went gold and released it in the App Store for $9,99/€9,99.

I have tested it with an iPad Air 2 and it works absolutely fantastic. You can connect locally or via internet and stream up to 720p60. If you connect your PS4 via LAN cable, there is almost no input lag. You can use MFI Controllers or virtual controls. Via the semi-account trick, you can even play with your Dualshock 4, provided your DS4 is connected to your PS4. Unlike the Android app, your PSN password isn't required. To pair a PS4 with your iOS device, you just need to input your PSN ID and the pairing code generated by the PS4.

By the way, the iOS App Store is full of clone apps of big franchises like Pokemon, Yugioh, Dragon ball etc. with stolen property and Apple does nothing about it. Heck, I bet you can submit a Metroid rom hack to the App Store and it will get approved.

Cool, is there any for android without root or just sony phones can use it?

Meanwhile im playing my games from pc, looks awesome on smartphone with 720p

Why? There is no proprietary code used. The unofficial Remote Play app for PC is still being sold btw.
Using reverse engineered code in commercial products can also be considered fraudulent in certain cases, I strongly believe that the days of both apps are numbered.

First off not sure but I HIGHLY doubt there is something this good. And no Sony phones CANNOT use it, ONLY iOS

For Android there is a mod of the official remote play app available somewhere in a thread at xda. It works on any not rooted Android device.

Neat! They should release it for a PS3 too. Why not ? By the way, I have a PS3 and a PS4.

Sony would REALLY appreciate it if you only used remote play on your Vita or their overpriced Xperia lineup.

I'm sure they don't appreciate users being able to access this feature outside of their ecosystem.

I used the Android XDA port before I got a Vita and they will definitely attempt to block it as they blocked this side loading method multiple times.

Poor timing. There is a beta of the new 4.0 rumored so they will fix it most likely with the final release of 4.0

I believe you can use the official Playstation App to control your PS4, but I don't know if you can control games with it.
You cannot. I've tried. All it lets you do is control the PlayStation menu and a select few games have some special features linked with it, but that is about it for the controller aspects of the official PlayStation app.
