Hacking Need help with really low fw old 3ds

As said if you want to use CFW you maybe will be better updating the console to 4.x or 6.x with a cartdrige that have an 4.x or 6.x update (since is easier to get than Cubic Ninja) and a DS Flashcart for install the MSET exploit, then you can update to 9.2 for easily use if you want and install the CFW you want to use with EmuNand or go trought the process to do Arm9Loader Hax I think.

On 3dsdb there are alot of games with 9.0 or 9.2 update. But most are listed with eshop on the type list. But cart will do on all those games?

Since your console currently doesn't has a browser installed, I'm concerned that if you going to update to anything above 4.x firmware using game cart, to 9.0 or 9.2 for eg., you won't be able to easily do CFW
You better do update to 4.x using game card, use MSET exploit with help of a DS flashcart and have RxTools CFW working on it. From then onwards follow Phailect guide to upgrade, downgrade, OTP, then A9LH.

64 or 128 is good. I have a 64 GB card and it's getting pretty full (though I'm sure I can find something to delete that I'll never play anyway) so if you never want to worry about having to delete games to make room for new ones, or you also want to use emulators, get a 128 GB.
Any class 10 card will work fine, personally I use a SanDisk Ultra UHS-I card, but the 3DS isn't able to take advantage of the full speed. I wouldn't recommend any lower than class 10 though. SanDisk/Samsung UHS-I cards are dirt cheap anyway so might as well get one of those.

128gb sd cards should have 117~gb of storage after formatting to fat32. Use a 64kb cluster size to reduce boot and load times.

Cubic Ninja is $29.99 preowned at GameStop on their website. :/ If your map flag is correct, just order it from them. It'll probably be the cheapest you'll find.

o.O Unless they got a restock in the last few weeks, you can't order it online from GameStop because its not available. Only way to get it from GameStop is to get REALLY lucky and find on in the store locally.

From what I am seeing, you should have used a cartridge update to go to 4.x or 6.x then MSET + Freeway to install SysUpdater and updated to 9.2.0-20E that way.

From where you are at now, I do not know of any easy way to access the homebrew menu. You would need OOT and a way to edit the save (powersaves or a 3ds with access to the homebrew menu) or something similar

However, the guide claims Ninjhax 2 works without a browser, from what I have heard before I don't think this is true. You can use another entrypoint, such as soundhax when that gets released, or basicsploit.

Try the closest match to your firmware version (that would be 9.2.0-7E), as the Ninjhax2 page does say the last digit can be any number and the counter goes all the way up to 999.

Just checked and no it doesn't. For O3DS the options for -## are 7-20, inclusive.

For shits and giggles imma try launching ninjhax using the 9.2.0-7U QR code on my 9.2.0-20U O3DS to see what happens.

So the 9.2.0-7U qr code launched ninjhax and the homebrew menu just fine on my 9.2.0-20U system, so I think @Hestemat should be fine to use ninjhax to get into something like Luma or Freeway and install the full 9.2.0-20E via sysupdater.

For other folks that may read this. On firmware with -0 in the end. Use ninjhax 2 and choose 999 as the last option instead of -0. Worked like a charm! Completed the guide but didnt do the dump last bit. Can freeshop download games in the background while i play other games?
