Nope, your post was great.I certainly hope you're not going on about me. I didn't think anything in my reply was rude. I was generally trying to help a user understand that there are better ways to find answers. I recommended searching first and then posting a question in an already existing thread rather than creating a new one. I've tried to be as helpful as I can and have patience. I even created a thread that I could link people to that explains the in's and out's of how to look at the stickies and then search. It's positive and non judgmental but I was blasted for it. I used to just link people to this when they asked questions that have already been answered but that seemed to piss people off just as much.

I really don't think there is any good way to try and direct users to existing resources without someone taking offense at it. This is 2016 however, most entitled generation of gamers ever. Everyone gets there feelings hurt even when you try and genuinely help.
Actually most of the posts were kinda short with the OP, but not your. Its to the exact points I was actually making. As far as giving info and coming off as an ass. Its a forum without verbal communication sometimes thats just gonna come out wrong.
I was mostly using the first part of your post as my example. As many seem to be too bothered with typing out everything you posted. So for those users I was attempting to post about I was giving them an example of how to respond without being an ass and just say already posted.
Your link to your post comes off as short to new people. That is why it gets hate. Again its a forum and people need their answer right now and if its not the one they want they post another thread over and over til someone answers them.
I understand looking at these same threads over and over gets old. And you took rhe hate your post got in stride and continue to help new people when others cant be bothered to post anything besides ass comments.
If I could give you advice on your thread to give new people it would be to do exactly what you did here in this thread and add the contents of your thread in a spoiler and put it in your signature. Then direct the to click the spoiler in your signature.
Anyway, most of your posts are the prime example of helpful and kind. Dont change that.
I understand people not wanting to give anything besides use the search or read the sticky threads. But, most of us (myself included) at some point have to realize what we see as common knoledge or easy is foreign and difficult to others.
Great example, I trashed a guy in the pc section over making four or five threads needing help because he screwed up windows after an upgrade then downgrade where when he upgraded something was messed up from the original. Then he downgraded and screwed himself. And with some guidance further messed everything up til it was no longer functional.
I seriously teased him and poked fun at him for improper forum posting and for messing up his windows.
So, I actually thought how could someone screw up so bad?
I then watched some of the guys I wrok with attempting to upgrade the workstation they sit at and most called the IT guys to fix ecerything they messed up. I wondered how can you not follow instructions right in front of your face?
Then it dawned on me that anything other than general usage for them was foreign. They somehow in their own head became overwelmed and the task became much harder than it actually was. So, with that I assisted the user here with starting over again. Now he is up and running it just took a little more than the usual to get it going.
Think about that when posting. Remember things you see as easy obviously arent to the people posting whatever it is that annoyed you in the first place. Or I know this is the hard or, or just view the thread and dont post anything at all. (This is general not aimed at the guy i quoted)
