I'm nearing the end of the tutorial to have my 3ds hacked. How do I rip my original 3ds games onto the 3ds? What about roms? Can I install original ds roms?

The 3ds games... I don't know, you could just re-download them from the Eshop. With DS roms? There is currently no suitable way to play them. I mean, there is a port of Desmume, but any 3d games are really not playable yet.

DS ROMs need a flashcart in order to run. You can use Decrypt9 or Uncart to rip 3DS games to .3ds and use a converter to convert them to .cia.

Ok so .3ds to .cia and then where do I put them? Sorry should be last question.

Actually one more thing because it's big I'm in the process of downgrading to 2.1 but now when I go to Luma3DS and try to go back to the home menu the home menu never loads. It says preparing to start the home menu please wait and do not turn off the power but it doesn't start.

These were the last steps I was doing I dont know why it would effect Luma3DS or RedNand but I haven't been able to get into it since.

  1. Reboot into SysNAND, then get into the Homebrew Launcher through the entrypoint of your choice
  2. Open OTPHelper, then go to "NAND Backup and Restore", then select the "EmuNAND Backup" option
  3. Backup your RedNAND to emuNAND_formatted.bin
  4. Press Select on the main menu to eject your SD card
  5. Put your SD card in your computer, then copy over emuNAND_formatted.bin andemuNAND_formatted.bin.sha to a safe folder on your computer
  6. Delete any existing updates folder from your SD card root that may be left over from a previous downgrade or update
  7. Copy the updates folder from the 2.1.0 firmware zip to the root of your SD card
  8. Reinsert your SD card into your 3DS, press Start and right at the same time to reboot, then boot your 3DS into RedNAND using any CFW
I can get into the official home menu and I can get into homebrew channel but when I try to use luma3ds just black screen or before the message about home menu loading.

If it had only been a couple of times I wouldn't of worried but it's been like 25 times now and it's always black screen or message that home menu is loading but never does, kinda worried. Someone please help?

So, I attempted to downgrade my 10.7 n3ds to 9.2 and experienced trouble, (as expected.) Yesterday I got impatient after continuously getting the "title exception: main.cpp:148" error in sysupdater, so I made the poor choice of attempting to downgrade with SafeSysUpdater. While it appeared that I was on 9.2 when I looked at my fw in the system settings, when I checked the install with downgrade check I was told otherwise. I have since succeeded in getting sysupdater to "work," however, it only checked 1 cia file and then restarted my system, saying that the downgrade was complete. I tried downgrading again with both SafeSysUpdater and PlaiSysUpdater, with an identical result, (1 or no cia files being validated before telling me the downgrade was complete.) I don't want to upgrade to 10.3 using the same method only to try downgrading again and risk screwing up my system more in the process. Am I fucked??

I'm pretty sure if PlaiSysUpdater verified one or no CIA files, you're on 9.2 and continue with cfw and stuff.

Yeah, the original reason I had concerns about the legitimacy of my fw downgrade is because I couldn't open EmuNAND9 and the only solution I found was that my downgrade might not have been completed correctly. Then I checked it with downgrade check etc. However, a couple minutes ago I tried to open EmuNAND9 and it worked. I'm currently creating my NAND backup :glare:. Hopefully I don't have any other problems... I feel like a dumbass.

I have an old 3ds at 8.1.0E is it safe/worth to install a CFW, if I instal it I have to update it up to 9.2.0? if I update it to 9.2.0 my gateway will still work? is it safe or it will brick?

Still Luma3DS black screen anybody have any suggestions?

I just tried putting Luma3ds 5.2 instead of 5.5 and it still black screen. I don't know what to do there's something that got screwed up.

If I buy a refurbished 3ds from nintendo, will it be updated to the latest firmware? Or would it be better to buy a new one to get firmware less than 11.0?

The latest version.
Loading my payload results in a black screen

Your payload is out of date. You can get the latest version for Decrypt9/EmuNAND9/GodMode9 from their respective GitHub release pages, an updated Uncart from here and an updated CtrBootManager9 from here.[/quote]
