How does one go about using the editors?

Are they the type that need that bootleg stuff to run on your 3DS?
Or can you just pop your SD card into your computer and run a hack on there?

You just need an access point into the Homebrew Launcher. There are so many guides, you should check them out if you're interested.

I've been googling them, its just a little confusing to me.

There's a site that has a "homebrew starter kit", which has a file to go in the root of the SD and a 3DS folder. I get that bit.
But I have an up to date 3DS. From what I understand, I would need to use something like the Super Smash Bros method, as many only work with older versions.

Hi,

Please look into this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/homebrew-entry-points-on-11-0.429812/

Pick 1 entry point, get the game for it, and follow the instructions to access Homebrew Launcher with it.

Note that Oothax still works even though that list says other wise. It's not a complete list, but it's the first one I found

Okay, so I have a PowerSaves and OoT. So I should be able to import the hacked save onto my cart with that and use the Homebrew that way?

Yup. Download the latest zip from: https://github.com/yellows8/oot3dhax/releases

Open it up, drag the save image from saveimages_powersave (will depend on which one you have) then use powersaves to import it into your cart

APM i love your save editor. Unfortunately I got a new 3ds for new mh and its 11.0-33 fw. Is there anyway to put on CFW to use your editor or am I shit out of luck? I also have powersaves.

Don't think I know of any guides. I guess just google "zelda oothax installation 11.0" ? Hardmod is only required if you want to downgrade.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
