Thats not how it works. If you want to load your own mods though sm4sh explorer you need the dump. That's it unless you wanna load a mod pack. But then you can't chose the mods, you just get mods someone already packed. So in the end get the dump.

Just leave the dump to run overnight.
Be sure to turn off automatic stand-by in System Settings, or your console will power off mid-dump.
If you're worried about your GamePad's screen burning, move your GamePad away from your console until it disconnects, then turn the GamePad off. The game will continue dumping even though the GamePad was disconnected.

Yeah but it never does the dump for me. So that's why I made this thread.

.................

We can help you (if it is fixable) if you tell us why it doesn't do the dump correctly? It's illegal to share these files. Are you typing in the ip correctly?>

Another way to get the needed files is to download them from NUS.

Get JNUSTool.
Use Notepad++ (not the standard crappy windows notepad, it has trouble with eol) to edit the config file and replace the second line with the WiiU common key (find it yourself).
Find the NUS encrypted title key for your version of Smash. (won't tell you how to find it)
Use WiiUBrew's title database to find the title id of your version of Smash. They're in the format <high_title_id>-<low_title_id>.
Open a cmd within the directory of JNUSTool (nothing selected, shift+right click, open cmd).
Code:
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 00050000<low_title_id> <nus_enc_title_key>
ex : if you find 00050000-12345678 as your title id and if your NUS title key is 1234567890abcdef0123456789abcdef you will enter:
Code:
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 0005000012345678 1234567890abcdef0123456789abcdef
A window will open. In content, pick dt00, dt01 and ls, then press download and wait for it to complete. Then close the window.
You might also want to download other things (like the sound folder inside content) but I'm just telling you how to get the bare minimum.
Then double click JNUSTool.jar and search for your version of Smash, open FST, select the patch folder in content and meta.xml in meta and download.
At the end of the process you'll have in your JNUSTool folder a folder called "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U [TITLEID6]". Copy/move your files so that the tree view of your files fit what Sm4shExplorer expect ("What you should see on your computer" in the first post).
If your download gets interrupted for whatever reason, you can start it again, it will skip files for which the download got complete.

Don't expect more help for that process.

Doesn't work either.

Anyway to make the dump work for mac? I tried using one for mac however it never worked for me.
Get titledumper.osx.v0.4.zip from ddd's github. You might need to make the file inside executable before you run it and follow the same steps as Windows users.
Or you can follow the instructions I gave, should be system independent.

You'll still need Windows (or a windows-like environment) to use S4E.

I tried that but it never worked.

Is there a way to request a mod you need? I just need a simple one that requires Kirby.
