Hi,
My friend stupidly installed basehaxx without making a backup to his save. Is it possible to remove the haxx without deleting the save?
Thanks!

If you didn't have a backup then i'm not sure there's much you can do.
You would be able to play the game perfectly fine though, your secret base would just be corrupted.

Try renaming the base using PKheX.*

*Haven't tried it myself, but basehaxx works on an overflow in the name.

I have no idea on how to use secrect bases :) i will tell him to try with pkhex.
From what he told me the only secret bases you can remove are from other people.

You could make a new secret base at another location, that SHOULD in theory delete BaseHax

Yeah I stupidly installed basehaxx without backing up first too, I made a backup afterwards though.

Now I need to uninstall it because it won't work on EmuNAND lol

It's nice when you have a backup to save you from your own poor judgement.
It's not so nice when your backup fails on you for no good reason, and it was the homebrew developer's lack of forethought that caused their installer to default to download versions of games as opposed to the cartridge versions where installing such things would actually be useful.

And, no, PKhex isn't able to fix this problem. I'm stuck running an undelete on my SD Card to try and find an older backup.

EDIT: Somehow, my older OR backup is basically the only thing that undelete can't find.
It can find things relating to my redNAND from before I installed arm9loaderhax. I'll chalk that one to pure dumb bad luck.

Ouch. We really should check if there's any way to rename the base outside of the game, maybe with some kind of hex editor or something. I know nothing about that so i cant be useful, buy maybe somebody from here knows how to do it and might help us :)

Aw, it's not so bad. PKHex can't remove Basehaxx, but with it's help, I can do a New Game +.
Stomping the game with an EV trained level 100 shiny trap Gardevoir is quite cathartic. Even without the Mega Evolution. And I kept my old Trainer IDs, so no disobedience!

Please do not spam links to threads you've made across multiple different threads.

I said this in your thread, but I'll say it again here in short: this requires you having already made a backup before you installed basehaxx, and so doesn't really have any use at all to many people. It effectively is not a 'noob-friendly' tutorial, and doesn't 'uninstall' basehaxx in any way, as you're merely overwriting a hax'd save file with one that does not have basehaxx installed.
