Getting a SNES Game/Cart on a PC?

I been a little lost on figuring out how to rip a physical copy of a game legally though my PC. I been researching, and I can barley find any sources on how to burn SNES Games onto a PC, get the ROM, or ISO, you probably get the jest.

Can I have some help please?
PS: I'm not using the CD Drive to burn the SNES Game .

So this piece of hardware can put the game files on my PC, so I can transfer it to another external device for emulation? I read the description, and it said that it can play games on your PC, it didin't say you can actually put the game on your PC Digitally (Like the ROM's, ISO's, etc.)

You need a rom copier. Do a search of rom copiers for the system that you want, and hope you can find one. I believe that is how is done.

I have been trying to look for some for PS2, can't seem to find any at all. I tried using a disc burner to get the files onto my PC but so far it is not working.

I'm also getting easily confused between burning, and ripping games on a hard drive/PC. And it's making my life a pain just trying to figure out how to put a physical game on a PC, or any other type of Computer.

ripping cd games is simple, just put the cd in the disc drive and use a iso converstion program like magic iso. Select the iso option and then allow it to copy the disc to the harddrive in the iso format. Make sure you have a dvd disc drive, or it won't read the ps2 disc cause most ps2 disc are dvd roms.

Okay I think I'm understanding this now. Back to the SNES... I am thinking of putting a SNES game on my PC but the problem is I will need extra utilities. @Sumsquat provided me with a a game iso/rom loader so you can play ROM's, and iso's on your PC. The only problem is it doesn't put the actual game files on the PC. It just load's them so you can play it on a PC with a physical copy.

I am trying to find something similar to that but instead have it just extract the game files on the game so I can play it on my Wii, PC, or any other device wih emulation.

In the FAQ(http://www.retrode.org/documentation/faq/ ), the first answer describes how it works. It appears as USB device with the ROM in it.

I think you're just better off downloading the rom, unless you're planning on dumping undumped games.

Its illegal to download ROM's/ISO's in my country. You have to literally buy the physical, or digital copy first, then extract the files if you want it on your PC. Even if you download it with a ROM Provider when you own the legitimate game, that is illegal, and piracy.

Yes, but no oone (Nintendo, law enforcement, ...) cares if you download SNES ROMs. And even if they did, it's almost unheard of for the person downloading to be prosecuted due to the cost of prosecution.

If you're really concerned, download through tor.

It's illegal almost everywhere and everyone does it. Chill dude, just the google the rom, download it and done. You're NOT gonna go to jail, actually, NOTHING will happen AT ALL. I pirate stuff ever since I was 6 and nothing ever happened. I even downloaded a shit ton of pirated stuff when I was in Japan, the country that cares the most about piracy and guess what? Nothing happened, it's just logic.

Well you're acting a little paranoid there. It is illegal to play a backup of a game anyway (even if you own the game legitimately), it is not illegal to to backup a game for personal archival purposes though.

Well, I don't own the device, it was recommended to me too, but I think so, as I've read in the FAQ that one questioner wanted to upload the rom and the answer didn't mention it'd be impossible, just that the seller would know where you live So, I guess you can just copy & paste it from the device to any folder on your PC.

I guess maybe he has his morals and we have ours. Personally i keep low profile of things, but is been known that some people ISP here monitor things like stuff downloaded. I had a few notes and warnings and letters sent to my house just to tell me i have downloaded a copyright movie, but nothing happened cause of it. Which is silly to notify me of a thing has been done with no concequence. But still, have to be careful.

They send a notice if they get one, which only happens if you download something which the copyright owner uploaded as bait, or connect to the owner as a torrent peer. That iso site isn't going to report it's own users.

Just going to stop the discussion at this point since the conversation is getting a little off topic.
Found my main question, (Much thanks <3.)

I'm just going to see where this is going to go in future reference. I'm sure I will be fine putting a game on my PC as long as I physically own it, and I do not provide a download of it anywhere. I'm still not going to use any piracy methods (Such as going to a ROM Site, because unuo FBI, and shit.)

I just plan on using it for emulation.

Went ahead, and did some further research on this. I did this for USA Copy Right Laws/Permissions

Some people, and topic's have been saying that the overall legitality of copying games with "fair use rights" is in the greyish area depending on the following.
1. How you got it
2. Where you got it
3. What did you use it for, and who did you share it with, that type of stuff

With legitality in mind this would be a good example of something that would probably give you a small punishment (Like community service, or have a notice sent to your house, or a fee.)
1. Using a clean rip/burner device
2. Bought physical copy of the disc from EBay
3. Used it for emulation. Did not use it for anything else

This would be probably one of the most legitimate circumstances of it being okay to copy the game/CD, etc... If you want to go an even more legit way you could ask the owner of the game for permission to copy it on your PC/USB Device. But doing so may take a long time, and be time consuming (and frustrating.) So it's just best off to copy it onto your PC.

As long as you don't copy it multiple times for multiple devices (Ex, one for IPhone, one for PC.) Then it's completely fine. (Mentioning useage being able to watch a movie on your IPhone, and PC at the same time. Having it stored however may be okay.)

A bad example would be getting a game, or movie off of the Internet. Which leads to piracy in US even if you own a copy. Downloading games & movies off the Internet will result in heavy fines you have to pay (1.5k USD - 500k USD.) Leading towards more issues along side.

So it's really just all based off of judgement, and law in your area. Granite we have morals but over all it should all be taken seriously, and not be taken as a joke. (Or else the FBI will be knocking at your door.)

AFAIK it shows up as a USB drive with the ROM and save file on it, meaning you can play the cartridge directly in an emulator since it shows up as a standard rom/sav. It also has controller inputs which is really nice if you like playing with original controllers. If you want to back up the ROM for use elsewhere just copy the two files from it, pretty simple.

i can almost guarantee you won't get caught.
if you want an invitation to a private game tracker (torrents) where you can download things like this just let me know.
but it's a waste of money to buy something to simply dump your games.
unless you don't care and won't be able to sleep at night because you committed this crime.
