Hey everyone,
I am currently using a N3DS with A9LH and arm9select (default is Reinand 3.8 i think, B is Luma3DS, I dont know which build, Select is emunand9)
This is functioning pretty good and I am most certainly satisfied with it...

However, I decided to make 'the next step' and use A9LH v2 with Luma installed to SysNAND.
Unfortunately I didn't follow along recent changes and I am kinda lost where to (re)start on plailects guide.
I already have my OTP.

So here are my questions:
1) What is my order to do this the 'fool proof' way?
  • Install A9LH2
  • Copy my Emunand mit EmuNand9
  • Overwrite my SysNAND with the EmuNAND'
(I don't understand how to switch from rei to luma in this process though :/)
2) On the latest luma release there is the following text:
'Added support for recovery mode (L+R+Up+A) on A9LH (you can safely update SysNAND from it without losing A9LH)'
I thought Luma was already protected and ensured that a9lh wouldnt be lost?

3) I've read that if you use decrypt9/emunand9 to overwrite emunand to sysnand you can delete a9lh? How to prevent this?

4) Does Luma have an auto updater included now? Or d I need lumaUpdater/StarUpdater(which?)?
5) If I remember correctly luma couldplay DS-Titles from eshop directly? Is this still the case or do I need to take extra measurements?

Actually, I am not that new to all this things, its just that I didn't touch my 3DS for quite a time. (Just started to use it recently for FEF)
But I want to be settled for the future.
And since BootNTR support Firm11 i think i can finally remove my emunand...

I know there are some noobish questions, and I am sure that there are ppl who will scold me, but I am just scared to accidently delete either my emunand or brick my 3ds.

Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Sno0t

To switch to luma all you need to do is put the files on your SD (backup your current arm9loaderhax.bin in case you want to go back).

You don't need to update to v2, nothing yet uses it except ShadowNAND which is in alpha.

Follow the steps in Plailect's guide for flashing emuNAND to sysNAND

If you use Hourglass9 instead of Decrypt9 you are protected from accidentally not keeping a9lh on flash

Not sure what you mean by playing DS titles from eShop directly. You can use a DS flashcart or try the WIP DS emulator.

Thank you for that, will look into these sections again :)
Well concerning ds games,I just got four swords from eShop but it only gives me Black Screen. ( or Was 4 swords GBA ?)

You have a german version of the Plailect's guide here if you have any doubts: https://github.com/KonsoleHL/Guide/wiki

Thanks for this, but I actually prefer English (original) Guides .
Still this is a nice to have :)

Thanks again you 2

So you mean DSiWare not DS (very different). If you have v1 Luma on sysNAND with original TWL_FIRM and no BootCTR9, Luma will patch things automatically so GBA and DSiWare will work.

Ah okay thank you, my bad ^^°

Edit:
A9LH v2 installed successfully
Luma on sysnand runs fine.
Thanks again.
